If I take a cab from the Polynesian back to Fort Wilderness, will it be allowed to drop me at my campsite or will they drop me at the Outpost and I'll take a bus to my loop?

Thanks!

I hate to see a question go unanswered.

I have never taken a cab while on WDW property, and I'm not sure why you would want to, but I will tell you that I have seen cabs in the Fort. Mostly dropping folks off at the Hoop Dee Doo.

I am not sure what the official policy is, but once you are past the guard shack, there is nothing stopping a cab from dropping you off at your loop.

Not sure what you're taking the cab for but if you have your room key, you can swipe it at the front gate and then the driver can take you in. Another way to go would be to board the monorail and take it to either the MK or Contemorary and catch a boat back to the fort. There's much more scenery and photo ops than in a cab. Either way, good luck.

picked up and dropped of at check in area

did it 4 times for poly, GF, and twice at the parks (after waiting 50 minutes for a bus)
I asked for pick up at cabin and was told no, did not ask on the return trip though.

WOW, sorry you had such a bad experience! We've never waited longer than 5-10 minutes for a bus going back to FW from a park. We did have to wait for a second bus once when we closed a park, but that was the only time.

My son is doing a Haunted Pirate Cruise at the Poly and it goes until 10:00. Originally I had planned monorail to MK, boat to FW, bus to loop but I know that late he will fall asleep on the first mode of transportation and I'm trying to find the easiest way to get him from the Poly to his sleeping bag. If the cab drops me at the Outpost then it's not worth the expense to me but if it drops me at the campsite then I'm willing to pay. I'll probably just end up going back to the Fort to pick up the car while he is on the cruise and picking him up at the Poly in our car.

You do know that you can park at the Polynesian with your resort ID, right? Maybe you should just drive there in the first place?

It was no big deal, we would of waited it out if our kids were not at melt down stage. All of the resorts' bus stops were full of waiting people, not just FW (POR had enough people in its line to fill at the very least three buses). I asked the next day after each incident and was told firework security checks for one (epcot) and detours of route for the other (mgm). Every other time it was smooth sailing (busing)

My only true beef with fort transporation is the ferry at night to MK (I think they should run two due to increased amount of people coming and going to HDDR)

You can have the cab take you through the returning guest entrance, use your "room key" to gain entry and then have him deliver you directly to your campsite. Not a problem. For pickups though, you will have to make your way to the reception outpost. Hope it helps.

I know I can but this is my son's first visit to the Fort and after he told someone that I was too cheap to pay for a hotel room I went through this long list of cool things about camping at FW and the thing he really latched onto was taking the boat to MK so we are arriving in the morning, setting up camp (hopefully our site will be available) and then heading out to MK for a late lunch at the Crystal Palace. Maybe he'll settle for taking the boat from the Poly to MK plus we are going to MK another day so it's not like he won't get to take the boat at some point.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts! You guys are great!

I don't know about you, but my campsite costs more than a room at a value. Heck I can book a Mod with my AP rate for about the cost of my site!
