my brother has caa, but he hasn't fully decided if he's going to florida yet. i want to lock in my dates, has anyone been able to check in if the person who had the caa card ended up not making it? thanks.

When you book your CAA room, they will ask for your CAA number and remind you that you will need to produce the card on check-in. HTH

Does the room have to be in the card holders name or does the card holder have to be just staying in the room.

I don't know the answer to that, but I can relate this to the AP rate. In that case, as long as the passholder is on the reservation, that is fine. S/He doesn't have to book the room. You could call Disney to confirm, though.
