We are going to WDW April 2007, and I was wondering about CAA discounts. Is it worth getting a membership? Are there discounts on the All Star Resorts? Passes? Any input would be helpful. There are 13 of us travelling and my Father-in-law is paying the whole shot! I am the one in charge of planning and booking, and I would like to save him some money here and there if possible.

Hey Donna -

Things to remember:
1.) Discount is based on availability at time of booking
2.) If you are booking a package with dining, flight, etc, you'll have to contact your local CAA office and book through them. As stated above discounted room-only reservations can be made through CRO, or any agent.
3.) Depending on the accommodations selected and availability, the savings can offset the cost of the membership as well as provide a discount.

From Mousesavers DOT com, here is the official scoop on CAA/AAA discounts:

"~ During Value Season you can get up to 15% off at the Disney Deluxe and Disney Vacation Club resorts, or 20% off at the Value and Moderate resorts and the Ft. Wilderness campsites.
~ During Regular Season you can usually get up to 10% off at the Disney Deluxe and Disney Vacation Club resorts, or 15% off at the Value and Moderate resorts and the Ft. Wilderness campsites.
~ During Peak Season you can usually get up to 10% off at the Disney Deluxe and Disney Vacation Club resorts, or 15% off at the Value and Moderate resorts.

The only time AAA/CAA discounts don't usually apply is Holiday Season (around Christmas).

You don't have to book AAA/CAA rates through the Auto Club. Room-only reservations with an AAA discount can be booked directly through the Disney Reservation Center at (407) W-DISNEY or a travel agent who specializes in Disney travel.

AAA/CAA rates for all of the following year are usually released in the summer. 2006 AAA/CAA "room only" discounts were released on June 30, 2005."

We saved around $300 -400 us when we booked with them. There is a membership you can purchase that is for travel benefits only and I believe it is around the $30 - 40 mark. tmli a Dis'r on the Canadian boards works for CAA, she may post with more info later today. Take Care and i say go for it! if i find my previous post I'll try and link it in...Here it is:
