I have a question for ya'll. Is anyone going to call DCL themselves on Wednesday to book a ressie for the CA cruises next summer, or did ya'll go through DU? If you went through DU, are you also going to call DCL yourself or are you leaving it all up to DU.

Thanx
Mandie

Its DU all the way for us. Just takes all the guess work out of it.

Definately Dreams Unlimited! It would be impossible for me to call DCL from work when the dates are released. My hours also are long and late, so I don't want to miss out on any chance of getting what I want. I have used Dreams for 3 or 4 previous cruises and they are wonderful!

DU all the Way!! I use them for our Disney Trips and will use them for our CA cruise if it happens!!

OK -- so now that we know we are using DU -- What are their hours and how do I get in touch with them -- that is on the phone.

I have an existing reservation with DU. I too am curious as to how we should proceed. We don't really have an established realtionship with an agent there. We have had two different agents answer questions, but it seems that our reservation was with one agent and now is with another????

I have a request into them for the CA cruises but it sure would be nice to know that an individual is going to handle this for us.

Juli

You should have an agent. The one who sent you the first mail saying you're request was accepted would be who you contact. I'd e-mail that person and double check everything with them. Just reconfirm, for your own piece of mind. I have always had good luck with them. I just hope there are enough cabins to go around.

We booked on board on the last cruise and then transfered the reservation to DU and my favorite agent Sue Ellen. I worked with her via email and she is going to get the July 2 cruise for 2005 for us.

Did you fill out a DU res form on the interent with the daye and info required for them to get the res? My understanding is that the agents are all internet and home based so when you call the ofice, the agents are not there. Sue ellen always gets back to me via email in a matter of hours.

We also booked via DCL and then transferred to DU. We had an agent that "mysteriously" disappeared. Someone else took up the banner of tweaking our reservation and answering my questions. I honestly can't remember her name. I'll look through my emails and see if I can find out who took it over.

Thoose of you who have put in Summer 2005 requests, have you just had an acknowledgement, or has someone been in touch?, or are you waiting for Wednesday 5th?

I filled out the reservation form and recieved the generic acknowledgment. I'm sure come May 5th I'll be off and on the computer all day to see if the dates have been released, comparing prices, and getting something booked. Given that I don't have a specific agent checking for me, I will pesimistically be checking what I can on my own. Hopefully someone from DU will contact me, but I'm prepared to go it alone if they don't.

Juli, exactly the same as you have said, a standard reply, although another company I also contacted, sent a full personalised response with contact name.

From all of the recomendations on this board I favour Dreams.

Hopfully with the press annocements today, and the big annoucmeent on Wednsday, you would have though DU and others would already be in contact with DCL, and have 'provisional agreements, possiblly they will have part prepared ot send off by e.mail when the press event 'pushes the button'.

I too have only gotten the generic response. I'm getting a little nervous about their contacting me. I know that until the cruises actually come out they can't do anything. But I have never used DU before. Are the people who have an established relationship with a travel agent going to get the edge?

If you have put in the request with Dreams Unlimited and received the confirmation email for the request, please be assured that that the cruise is being worked on.

Due to the number of requests it could take a little time to get the confirmation of the reservation back to you, however you can be certain that it is being taken care of for you.

I hope this helps.

Hi everyone. I filled out a DU cruise request early last week(maybe even the week before) and did not get back even a generic letter! I also sent an email last weeking asking if they were working my request because I has not heard anything and again no response. What should I do? Dh has agreed that DD and I could come back from Germany for the Ca to Fl reposition cruise. Our original aggreement was all things Disney had to wait until our reassignment to the States July 2006!

Sue Ellen, can you answer this question for us.

Many of us have used DU time and time again and I think everyone here who has can agree they are AWESOME. I'm still amazed at their success in securing Cindy's ressies for us, not once, not twice, but THREE times w/o fail. So, nobody will sing DU's praises higher than I will. However, I hear tell that travel agents are NOT be allowed by DCL to secure blocks of rooms, as I would imagine would be the norm when an agent calls with that many requests all at once. I hear they must go booking by booking, painstakingly securing ressies one at a time. If this is true, it could be hours before a ressie is booked for someone lower on the DU agents list and hours can make a huge difference.
Can you speak to this?

Mandie:p

I have a further question to Mboothby. How exactly does DU work. I just spoke by phone with another TA. They will take your information and credit card information for the deposit today and book your cabin tomorrow?

Well, with DU, you go to the DU link on this site. You fill out a request form (in this case, you have to chose a fake sailing date and put a note in there that you want to be on the 2005 CA cruises). You submit the form from the site and then you get a "form letter" response. Then, after that, you SHOULD get a response from a specific person who will be your DU agent. From then on you communiate with them. What they'll do tomorrow, is call, book and then e-mail you with what you got and you'll have, I think 5 days to go on-line and submit your credit card info, or call them with it, for the deposit. Then you're set.

Thanks for the clarification. Are they going to be able to move fast enough to get, for example, the transition cruise?

I am actually getting sick to my stomach with anticipation. I don't know if I can wait until they get back to me.

I am seriously questioning the same thing. I feel EXACTLY as you do! I do NOT expect to sleep tonight
