C25K! Anyone else in?

I did it! I was able to run the three minute run!! It was painful towards the end but I kept picturing a distant tree as a finish line!! I am so excited and I just want to say thank you. Without somebody in your life going "you can do this, i've done this and i know you can do this" its a lot more difficult, and i'm glad i've found a group of people doing exactly what i'm doing so that they can support me.

Thank you!! :woohoo::woohoo:

Great job!!! :wizard:

I did my first run with 2:30 sprints today, and my first run with HILLS. It was super hard, but I kept picturing ::MickeyMo running in front of me. LOL

Yay, me too! I thought I was going to die on the second 3 min one so I did stop for a minute but, made up for it with a sprint at the end.

I was trying to picture Cinderella's castle since I wan to do the Princess 1/2 next year.

That's why I listen to the Dis podcasts while I run. To remind me that I'm trying to get to the Disney 1/2 marathon in January.

W7D2 done. I wasn't feeling it at all today. Little one was up last night with a fever and I'm tired. But I did it anyway! Go me! It helps that I got my Disney 1/2 marathon training shirt for Easter.... :thumbsup2

Finished Week 8. Will finish up Week 9 this Saturday in an actual 5K race! Hoping to run it as much as possible, but the course is very hilly...and I'm still not that great with hills.

I am still VERY slow. I can run the intervals with no problems once I get into my "groove" but I can't seem to improve my pace. Once I finish this week I plan on continue Week 9 for a while until I can improve my pace. I am no where near close to the 10-minute miles you are supposed to be doing at the end of the program!

Oh, i really want that shirt!! :cheer2:

I was going to get that shirt. Guess I can't now. :sad1:

Tonight is W2D3 and I'm going to start W3D1 tomorrow night. Bad me for skipping a rest night especially going from one week to the next but my DD has a Dr. appointment on Wednesday and I don't think we will be coming home that night. :sad1:

Only 2 more runs!!!!!! :cool1: I think I've decided to do run the actual 5K mileage 3 days a week until I can get it closer to 10 min miles. After I see how long that takes, I may have one "long" run day, where I increase my normal 5K time by 3 minutes or so, just to keep the endurance up.

For those of you that have been around a while, remember me whining about the cold air and my lungs? Well, turns out they don't love heat either! :rotfl: It was 80 degrees here, and I was sweating and huffing!!!!

I ran W3D1 today. I was really dreading the 3 minute run, but I did it! Near the end of the second set I thought I would die, but I pushed through and did it! As always, I felt great when it was all over. Now I'll feel better going into day 2.

Great job! I'm right with you.:cool1:

I was supposed to do w7d3 today. I've already managed three 25 min runs. Today I just didn't have it. It was my 1st time running early in the morning. I ran 10 min and had to walk the rest. Frustrating! I think I'll stick with week 7 for a bit longer....

You are so close! I just finished my last run today. :yay::yay::yay: It feels so good to "graduate". I never thought it possible when I first started the program.

I just finished week 7! Dare I say I could have run for longer than 25 minutes?? :rolleyes1 Bring on 28 minutes! :cool1:

Looks like we will "graduate" together this week! I am no where near 3 miles in 30 minutes yet so I am going to do the same as you - just run 3 miles until I can do it in 30 minutes. And I agree, I am not sure which is worse, running in the cold or running in the heat!!! Neither are fun!!!!!!!!

Okay I did W3D2 today, but it was harder than the first day because my shin splints are back!! I had a softball game last night (on my rest day) and that could have aggrevated them. I'm running on Thursday, and wondering if you guys think it would work if I took some advil about an hour before running??

How fast are you running?

Just curious, what do people do to ease pain in the shins?

I rested for a week, and I am now wearing Zensah calf compression sleeves. Tonight will be my second run with them. I think they are helping, but I will wait another week or two before giving a resounding endorsement.

HI new to this thread!!! I just started this program. w1d1 complete for today. I thought it wouldn't be too bad since I do walk 3 miles on the treadmill but the jogging part was harder than I anticipated. It didn't help that I was going up a slight incline during when I hit my first 60 seconds of jogging. LOL I made it through and am excited to work the program!

I hope this motivates me to shed some pounds. I don't have a goal in mind but I am thinking somewhere between 25 to 40 lbs--depending on how I feel about my body.
