Anyone ever bring (or buy at the Superwalmart) one of those small Coleman Camper grills to vero and use it?

We never have. Not sure were you could use it other than to take it over to the lake. Might be easier than the charcoal grills over there though.

I think it's against the fire codes for the region to have grills on the balcony. I'm sure the resort will shut you down if they find out about it. I have asked previously and been told it's not permitted. And they (DVC) felt strongly enough about it that they bought lunch for our crew of 9 (I think it was) including tax and tip because of it.

Has anyone used the grills that are there?
I haven't. They weren't there the first time i went (referenced above) and we didn't want to try to walk through the tunnel and across the street to grill out since. It has been a few years since we were there, maybe they've improved them or moved them to a more convenient location.

Hey Dean do you know if FLA law allows on public beaches? I am staying in a BC and grilling on the beach would be convenient to the BC's.

I am sorry, I do not know. I'd call the resort and ask.

BC may be different... not multi-family. Maybe even provide a grill on the deck. Dont' know though... never been in one.

I know I'm digging this thread up from a few months ago but..

Mahusky, did you ever figure out if you can grill on or near a BC??

We are going next spring and I'm interested in what you find out.

I didn't ask this past trip but on two past trips it was against the resort policy to allow grills at the resort itself. That fact got me a free lunch for 9 at Shutters back about 1998. I know I've seen grills on the beach but don't know from a FL law standpoint.

Thanks Dean! So the whole resort is grill free. I thought maybe just the balconies were off limits. I know there isn't much space at VB but thought you could work a little grill on the ground somewhere.

There are grills across the street in the park area. You can access them by car or through the tunnel. They were not there on my first trip, for the second they had put a couple of gas grills over there are the time for a temporary fix I believe.
