Yesterday was the last performance of Fiddler on the Roof. At least, it was for me and the 9 others who are not going to do the show when it moves to another city about an hour away. It's so weird that the show will continue on without me!

I enjoyed doing this show- it had one of the friendliest casts I've ever worked with. :) The kids were great. In fact, I found myself hanging out with the handful of middle schoolers more often than the adults and other college aged people. The kids were all sad about my leaving the show and asked for my email 'n such. I also got much of the cast to sign my program. The adults were actually really sweet too and I exchanged email with some of them as well. I found out yesterday that the woman playing Yente went to college with Tony winner Kristin Chenoweth!

As for amusing stories....well, there was the time last week when I went to sing my solo line and miss the cue to start singing! It was awful...I just stood there wide-eyed trying to come in. The only part I got out was the last part of the line "I just heard that Hodel's been arrested in Kiev!" At the time, I was rather bummed for the rest of the performance. But all is good because that's the only time that happened.

Here's one that will be my fav funny moment. During the very last moment of the show when we are all leaving Anatevka, my "husband" usually carries a wooden crate. Well, the other night, his box was accidentally on the wrong side of the stage so instead, he grabbed the butterchurn that's used in act one! The whole time we criss-crossed the stage, I could not stop laughing because it looked as if all our worldly possessions were in a butterchurn! Luckily, I had a shawl on to cover my mouth.

I brought my camera yesterday when we had a photo call so once the roll is finished and I get them developed, I'll share them with all of you!

...and that's what comes from men and women

DANCING!

Just kidding. Glad your part of the run went well for the most part. At least you didn't fall off the stage into the orchestra pit (I'm just now healing).

I just got a call from my director from "Gypsy" and he said he got a call from the St. Petersburg Times reviewer who had to review a professional theatre production of "Gypsy" at a dinner theatre north of me. The reviewer was telling him that it was going to be very difficult, because after she saw our "Gypsy", she thought theirs was a let-down! She said my Mama Rose was far superior to this lady who she saw that has Broadway credits! I was so flattered and glad he passed that along to me.

Let me know when/what your next show will be. My DH is opening in "Bus Stop" on Thursday.

Yes, make sure you share your pictures - I can't wait to see them. :D

I'ld love to see 'em too. As for your, ah, theatrical lapse (and who of us hasn't had one)....just give them a big finish and they'll never remember you messed up the beginning!!! (that's sorta how it goes anyway).
Val...what great news that was. You must be very proud. Happy to hear you're doing better now.

Sounds like you had an absolutely wonderful time, Angie! I can't wait to see the pictures from the show :)

You always have such great times with your productions, AB, keep it up. Looking forward to the pictures.
