BWV vs. BCV-my thoughts.

I stayed one night at BWV last week before switching over to BCV-specifically so that I could see the comparison. So which did I like better? BCV! Does that mean I think BCV is better and so all you BWV owners can write me nasty messages? Absolutely not! I just love the theming-for me,"sand under my toes" is great. Here's my thoughts on the comparison objectively (I hope it's objective):
1. Both Front Desks had very friendly CMs and lots of "Welcome Homes"
2. I liked my view from BWV better (even though my BCV view was deemed "great" by some, I found the service road annoying over there)
3. Although I had excellent housekeeping at both places, the plumbing was better at BCV
4. The water pressure at BWV was a little stronger
5. At BWV, the bathroom fan was tied into the light so that whenever you turned on the bathroom light, the fan went on. At BCV, they were 2 different switches. At BWV this is a little annoying if you like to leave the bathroom light on all night to serve as a night light.
6. At BWV, my studio didn't have a coffee table in front of the couch. I even called housekeeping to ask where my coffee table went. Apparently there isn't one. So you have a big empty space there. OK if you use the fold out couch, but I like to put my feet up and drink my coffee on the couch-not convenient to do that at BWV.
7. BWV studios had a little mirror and shelf just as you come in (remember OKW had that, too)-I liked that. Great place to put your keys.
8. When you get off the elevator at BWV, you're either right in the busy lobby or on the first floor which isn't the best to see. I liked that the first floor of BCV opened onto that pretty tree and nice little lobby.
9. More quiet nooks for reading (Solarium, Drawing Room, Breezeway) for reading at BCV
10. I liked the panel electric wall switches at BWV better than the regular ones at BCV. It would seem (although I don't have little children) that those panels would make it easier for little, less-coordinated fingers to turn on/off lights

Hope this comparison helps someone, and like I said, I hope it was fairly objective.

Regarding the coffee table in the studio, they mentioned in the BW annual meeting that they will be adding these.

Thanks for the comparison!

Nice comparison. Very objective and factual. By the way, I like the pool bar at the BWV better than the one at SAB.

Thanks for the info! Any idea when they'll be adding them? If it's definitely within the next year, I'll stay there again-gotta see what I think with the coffee tables added (LOL). Can you tell staying at BWV wasn't exactly a hardship?

We stayed at BCV last January. We thought it was beautiful. Great views of fireworks and the common areas were awesome.

My one beef about it was the exterior entrance to the main building. When you check in at the YC/BC lobby, you walk through a windy hallway, then outside to the main building. It just kinda irked me. I thought it seemed obvious that the BCV were an afterthought.

As far as location goes though it cannot be beat. We loved Stormalong Bay and Beaches 'n' Cream. It was a nice walk to Epcot too. BWV is my favourite though because of the old fashioned theming and the Boardwalk activities.

Well, actually it is an afterthought. It also seems to keep it more quiet and a little removed from the busier hotel.

Oh I am thrilled to hear this! We use the sofa a lot and having the coffee table is so convenient!

I also thought it odd that we had no table in front of our couch in our BWV studio. Although I did not like how large the coffee table is in a BCV studio. I hope the ones they are going to add are more the size of the coffee tables in the BWV one bedrooms. (I think VWL also have the smaller oval shaped coffee tables - at least it looks that way in my pictures. The one at BCV was rectangular and just a little too big when moving it out of the way to open up the couch. JMHO of course!)

BWV studios never had coffee tables, that is why I am so thrilled to hear this. As DVC builds newer resorts they improve on things from the older resorts. A great example of this is the greatly improved table w/bench seating at BCV. We still can't figure out where Disney was going with the new bathroom door set up at BCV though, LOL!

Great post Simba's mom!

At BWV, my studio didn't have a coffee table in front of the couch. I even called housekeeping to ask where my coffee table went.
I missed the coffee table too at BWV when we stayed there in Oct. I thought since our studio was a lockoff maybe it had gotten moved into the 1 bedroom next door. LOL. Since we were used to the studio at BCV, we thought the BWV studio looked empty in front of the sofa.

BWV studios had a little mirror and shelf just as you come in (remember OKW had that, too)-I liked that. Great place to put your keys.
We have stayed in a lockoff studio at BCV and it also has a mirror with shelf and hooks to hang things right inside the door. That was very convenient for swimsuit coverups, fanny pack and room keys. The one at BWV studio was also nice but I missed not having the hooks underneath. The dedicated studios we have stayed in at BCV do not have these mirrors/shelves.

At BWV, the bathroom fan was tied into the light so that whenever you turned on the bathroom light, the fan went on. At BCV, they were 2 different switches. At BWV this is a little annoying if you like to leave the bathroom light on all night to serve as a night light.
I agree!

Another difference between BWV and BCV studios is the bathroom sink vanity area. We really liked BWV better with the drawers and cabinets under the sink. We could put makeup and other things out of sight so it looked less cluttered.

Even though we prefer BCV, it's nice to have another wonderful place to stay in the Epcot area since we really like this location.

stayed at bcv but always enjoyed my morning coffee in a studio looking out to the breathtaking views of the Swan and Dolphin and the pool below or to the lake and the epcot Ball.
I always like to stay on the fifth floor to look over the trees

Unfortunately my wife does not like sand ,hence no bcv
