I like a room with a quiet view of a courtyard or garden, I don't want to have a pool view or a room over looking the boardwalk because of noise.
Should I book a standard or a preferred view room?

We have not stayed at BWV but want to try a 1bdrm in June and I don't know which view would work best for us.

Also what is parking like for guests at BWV?
is it close to rooms like BCV?

See this map posted by Granny:

Parking is on the lower right. The only garden area with 1 bedrooms is on the far left (the building in the picture is gone) and is a long way from parking.

We've stayed in preferred view rooms by the quiet pool and it's very peaceful there.

My DD and her DH had a 1 bedroom standard last year. They had a really nice view of the entryway and the pond to the right, very quiet and close to parking. Worth a try to request it.

If you can get a standard view, I'd go for that. Ask for something as far from the elevators as possible and you hopefully will end up at the end overlooking a pond and parking lot (the bottom of the picture Debbie posted).

Aside from that, I second the notion that the Preferred View rooms overlooking the quiet pool were very quiet when we stayed there.

No, the parking is a bit of a hike at BWV...nothing like BCV which has the closest parking access for a hotel-style DVC resort.

After looking at these pictures I'm not sure if BWV is for us especially with a 11 month old . We use our car almost everyday when we are at WDW and that might be a problem at BWV.

Thanks for all the information.

We just got back from BWV with a 20 month, not stroller friendly at all. Parking was a hike (DH was not thrilled with how far it was) To much up and down stairs/elevator.

Loved it for walking to DHS and Epcot which was the two parks we went to the most.

We have stayed at all the DVC at Disney and it was by far our least favorite.

We're usually in and out several times a day in the car. While it's further than most, we don't find it a big deal. There are ways to get around the minimizes some of the travel distances but they're still longer than the rest of the DVC resort on property.

We were just there 2-3 weeks ago and it is now my favorite WDW property. By far. The self parking lot isn't that close to be perfectly honest but it isn't terrible either. Every time I took the car out which was virtually every day, sometimes twice a day, I would drop my family off at the carport and go park. Then I would walk back solo.

I believe this maps is more up-to-date:

We were in the small red section at the very bottom of that photo. We were on the bottom floor, and it was easy to walk out the nearest doors and get to the parking lot. or cross the front drive to the bus area. It was a bit of a hike to the International Gateway.

This is our feeling as well. We won't stay there again.

BWV has been great for us.....when my youngest was 18 months we had no problems. Though we never used a car, we always used Disney transportation so we didn't have to battle with the parking.
