What's the best way to get to Disney's Hollywood Studios from BWV? Was thinking the walkway, but I've never done it so not sure where it is located.

Thanks for your help!

I think the boat was fantastic - the driver was fun to talk to and we got to see the dolphin and swan too. It probably took about as long and it saved our energy for the park.

I did the walk when I wanted to get one of the little ones to take a nap. Pushing the stroller along the river is very quiet and relaxing, so they fell asleep rather easily.

So I'd say if you have a small child due for a nap, walk. If you want to save some energy for the parks and don't have a compelling reason to walk, take the boat. Probably about the same time-wise with stops, etc...

It's an easy 20 minute walk from BWV. And will almost always be significantly faster than taking the boat.

Here's a visual of the walk along the canal indicated by the red line. The entrance to DHS is at the bottom of the line:

We have only taken the boat. If it is crowded that boat may be slow. I believe it runs every 20 minutes.

If you do take the boat, it is quicker to get on and off at the Swan & Dolphin. It's a short walk from BWV but cuts out a lot of slow boat travel time.

As others have indicated, if you like long, lazy boat rides then just stay on the boat and you'll be good.

One other thing...there are times (like after Fantasmic ends) when the boat dock at DHS is overflowing. You could wait quite a while for a couple of boats to come in that instance.

If your room at the BWV is at the end of the hallway, you can go down the stairs and exit near the pathway. It can save some time. We really enjoy the walk, but we typicaly travel at cooler times. There isn't any shade, so in the summer months it can be warm.

Best is variable.

Not very many people do the walk - that walkway is usually very uncrowded compared to the path to Epcot. So "most" people probably feel the boat is best. The boat is slow, however, there is air conditioning and you get to sit.

The walk is nice. I do the walk at least once a trip - sometimes I do the walk while the rest of my family takes the boat. It isn't Disney's prettiest walk, but its a clean, servicable walkway.

A third option is to drive or take a cab. Don't laugh, we've taken a cab from the front of the Boardwalk to DHS in order to get to Fantasmic. Its really quick. I've ONLY done it for that "we have to get there NOW" situation, but at the time, that was the best solution.

There is no bus from BW to DHS - you either take the boat, walk or take a car/taxi. (Well, you could do some sort of convoluted "take the bus to Magic Kingdom, transfer to a bus to DHS" but I don't know that ANYONE would consider that the "best" way to get there - unless you were a particular fan of the Disney bus system :))

I think I'll do the walk as I've never walked there before. Didn't realize there was no bus service to DHS...good to know!

Thanks everyone!:wizard:
