Hi,

My goal is to rent points for 2 studios from a DVC member this year at either BWV or BCV, for us (me, DH, DS-11, DS--13 and DD--2) and my parents. I have a few questions which I'm hoping someone here can answer:

1)Is it possible to get 2 studios near eachother? My Mom and Stepdad would be in one room and us in the other and we'd like to be close by so they can help with the kids. Can you fax room requests to the front desk as you would with a regular room?

2) Is Magical Express available to us, even though we are renters at DVC?

3)I read on another site that BWV have studios with daybeds, in addition to the regular studio. Is there a different point requirement for those? Do I just have the DVC member check for availability when making the reservation?

Thanks so much for any info you can provide!!! I really appreciate it!

The location of rooms is only a request and cannot be guaranteed. Your chances will most likely depend on how busy the resort is at the time of your stay.

I haven't seen a BWV studio with a daybed, but they will all have a sleeper sofa.

It is possible - but not guaranteed. I'd say the odds are not in your favor. I'd spend a few extra dollars and rent a 2 bedroom instead. For the extra $$, you'd get a full kitchen, living room, two bathrooms (one with a jacuzzi tub) nd a washer & dryer (in the unit). The extra space is especially nice for those who have young children (who may need a nap or go to bed earlier than the dults) or for anyone who will use the room for more than just sleeping and showering.

The DVC resorts do not accept requests by fax. If you send one, it will just be ignored. All requests should be given to MS - so you'll need to have the owner relay yours when the reservation is made.

Yes, ME is available to all WDW resort guests, including those who stay at the DVC resorts. Doesn't matter if you are staying on points or cash. DVC members (and their guests, renters) may also add the Dining Plan if they wish.

The daybed is more like a parsons bench. It might be OK for a small child to sleep on, but it is in no way suitable for an adult. These rooms (which are commonly known as dedicated studios, because they do not conenct to a 1 bedroom) are by request only. You cannot reserve one.

You're welcome - give that 2 bedroom serious consideration. It will really make your vacation a lot more enjoyable.

Best wishes -

We were in a room with a "daybed" on our last trip and I wouldn't have my child sleep on it. I also wouldn't count on getting a room with one either. By the time the rooms are broken down into the 3 categories (standard, preferred & Boardwalk views) I don't think there are very many.

Hi :wave2: ,
We traveled this past August with 5 in a studio (me, DH, DS5, DS2, and DS 9 months). We fit but it was snug. The baby slept in the pack 'n play, the 5 year old on the pull-out, and my 2 year old slept on the floor on a toddler size airbed (just fit between the bed and the pull-out. Where were thinking to have your 2 year old sleep? I'm guessing she'd rebel at the pack 'n play? Mine would  . Did you plan on any of your kids sleeping with your Mom? Don't plan on the "daybed" at BWV, from one mom to the next, it is not "bed" worthy from both a size and safety perspective. If you can swing it, consider the extra points to rent for one 2 bedroom. It gives you more options for beds, a full kitchen, in room washer and dryer (a lifesaver for us this past January when my one year old had diarrhea :sad2: ) 2 more tv, that lovely jacuzzi tub, and oodles more space. Your Mom and stepdad won't feel hemmed in, there is plenty of room, especially if you have a 2 bedroom lockoff - their room would actually be a studio. This is what we are doing in the summer, bringing MIL and FIL with us. Having said all this, 2 studios is still doable. Gosh, we even fit both a double and a single stroller (open) in the room with us in a studio. Got to love family togetherness :grouphug: !

Well, now I'm a bit nervous...but if I'm right, staying in Sept., it's 85 points for the week in a studio and 270 for a 2 bedroom. If my mom and I split the room, assuming $10/pp, I would be asking her to cough up an extra $500 for the same type of room--or I have to and then it's an extra $1000. We've stayed in her timeshares with full kitchens and didn't really use it other than for small meals/snacks. I realize I would be getting a living room and it may make it easier to put my 2yo down at night (she will sleep in a pack n play) and a washer/dryer in the room, but that extra $$ could easily be put toward our park hoppers. Hmmmm.....

I would just go with the 2 studios. We've requested rooms near each other for a GG at BWV, and the 5 villas, 1 2-bedroom and 4 studios were more or less in the same area, (1 was a preferred view and the others standard) and they were all on the same floor. When I have not requested the rooms be near each other, they have been on different floors or spread out over the resort, so I think that efforts ARE made to meet the requests.

The studios with the deacon bench are dedicated ones. And in our GG, 3 of the studios actually were dedicated ones, so if you request "near" you may very well get dedicated ones. No guarantees, please understand that.

Bobbi :)

Rent the studios and have a great time.

THANKS--to all of you! In an ideal world, I wouldn't even think twice about getting a 2bdrm. Unfortunately, I have to mantain a level head before and after the trip. So, I will probably go for the 2 studios, since this is the only year we can fit 5 (with Olivia in a crib) in the room.

Yes, we're in the exact same situation regarding the studio at BWV. There's me, DH, DS12, DS9 and DD2 - it's gonna be tight but fun! :teeth: In any case we all stayed in one room at POFQ and at WL last year and it was no problem. My thinking is that if we get back to WDW again in the future our option of 5 of us in a studio or most rooms on property are seriously diminished so we're making the most of it now. We've rented points from a wonderful DISer! Just a note of caution - I had my mind set on a standard room too but they were gone so you might need to prepare yourself to accept a preferred view, if std. is unavailable. Having said that, you're going in September which won't be as bad at all I guess, we're going in October when the Food & Wine festival is on so that's probably why all the std. views were gone. Still, keep it in mind - you'd then need 104 points instead of 85. We're staying elsewhere for the Fri & Sat nights to save some money. Hope it all goes well for you! :)
