I dot not own a DVC timeshare, but hope to buy one soon. I looked at the point chart and saw the BWV have a studio room that costs less in points than most others.

IS there a catch to these rooms besides the view?? Are they very few in # and hard to reserve?? Any help from an expert would be greatly appreciated!

Besides view (which I don't consider a draw back) they are configured the same as all other studios. Boardwalk now has 3 categories. Standard and Boardwalk view tend to fill up first because of the low points or great view but there are always reports of people getting both within the 7 month window and close to travel time.

Good luck

The only difference with standard view is the view itself, the room is the same. The view isn't bad at all, most of the upper floor rooms have a view of Illuminations high fireworks. There are not that many, standard view is only about 20% of the resort and can be hard to book.

If I were to buy at the BWV and attempted to book at the 11 month window, would it be difficult to get the SV studio?

No it wouldn't be. If you are an owner you get the 11 month booking advantage, so only the owners can book from 11 months through 8 months. At busy times of the year, being an owner is the only way to get a standard studio. Plan in advance. That's the key.

If you are really set on booking BWV in a standard view studio - I would buy a BWV resale as opposed to buying somewhere else and trying to book at the 7 month window. The standard view rooms at BWV are hard to come by unless you own at BWV and can take advantage of the early booking opportunity.

The views are really worth it. They aren't spectacular - we didn't have a view of Illuminations, but had a nice view of pond, tennis courts, landscaping, and parking off in the distance. Well worth the point savings in my opinion.

Good luck!

We decided to reserve a 200 point contact at the BWV!!! The timeshare store is mailing us paperwork this week!

Good luck to you!

BWV is one of our homes and we just love it!

GoofynMe; good luck with the resale. The low points for Std View stays were what hooked us on BWV as a home resort. For the popular periods especially, the 11 month window is critical for snagging these great bargains (IMO). I am sending some friends down using some of my points during F&W in October, and we were only able to get 3 of their 8 nights in Std View, bcs we didn't reserve until 10 months out (waitlisted ever since, tho we have Pfd Pool view for the other 5)!

My 11 month booking window opened up July 12, 2004 for June 10, 2005. We bought into the BWV re-sale and the deal wasn't finalized until mid August. I was then able to call and reserve our room. I asked for a standard and the CM at MS asked me if I'd like a BW view! I had figured these were all taken and would be VERY lucky to be able to get a studio at BWV! I was pleasantly surprised.

We were not able to secure a cat #10 for our cruise immediately following our BWV stay but got an 11.
