Update:

Thanks for all the input! I too was leaning towards the boardwalk villas because it’s so close to Epcot ... BUT after watching tours of both rooms I decided to book at CCV. Our last two stays have been at Rivera and Grand Destino and I just didn’t see us being happy with the room at BWV. The room/resort is important to us because we do spend time at the resort.
We will have our car anyway and with the price difference in room we can always Uber to Epcot if we plan on drinking.
I might end up changing my mind if some type of discount comes out… But I have a CCV Studio booked!

Hello all! We are trying to decide between a Boardwalk studio or a Copper Creek studio. I have stayed at Wilderness Lodge before and know that I like it.

However, I I have never stayed at Boardwalk and with the proximity to Epcot I I think it might be better for a couples trip. Especially since we will be going during food and wine fest.

Copper Creek is $100 cheaper a night ... but we are only staying for four nights so not a “huge“ difference.
I do have some concerns that Boardwalk “hotel” will not be fully open yet when we go. We are going the first week of August.

Boardwalk is probably $100/night cheaper at that time because of Food & Wine Fest. The location is fantastic.

The main downside to the Inn side being closed seemed to be limited food options and activities (I stayed there in August 2020), but if you're planning to spend most of your time in the parks, this isn't a huge issue. You'll have a kitchenette with a microwave, toaster, and mini-fridge, so you could plan to do breakfast in your room.

We own BWV specifically to be able to stay there for our F&W trips. Being able to walk back to your room and avoid Disney transportation after a few hours in WS is 100% reason enough to stay there. CCV has nice rooms IMO, but for a F&W couples trip it's not a contest in my mind due to location.

You might also want to check out Swan and Dolphin. While the themeing is pretty sterile, the location is very similar to BWV at usually a reduced cost. I would stay there over CCV for a F&W trip as well. Just make sure to add in resort fee and parking fee if you have a car....to make sure to compare apples to apples.

BWV wins for F&W plus walking access to both HS and Epcot. And it's a new-to-you resort. You will have a number of TS and QS restaurants close by. The Inn side has no projected opening date but the shops and restaurants on the boardwalk are reopening one by one. Strolling the walkway around crescent lake can be very pleasant at night and it's a great place to run in the early morning hours.

We stayed there for a week in late October. Although we were not happy with the park situation (no hopping at the time, short hours, no FP, long lines, lack of entertainment), we thought that BWV itself was a great place to relax and unwind.

Personally I am not a fan of BW just not my cup of tea not that is by any means a bad resort as it in fact has a lot of good. We are staying there this year for the access to EPCOT and HS and also a family member coming with us wants to stay there. We are DVC members and will have a 2 BR with a full kitchen as we were concerned about the food options at the resort being we do not go to the parks everyday.
with that your decision depends and no one can predict when things will open.
I personally love the theming of WL and everything is presently open including the Bar near the water. I don't think I need to explain the resort as you obviously like it as well.
The main downfall however is in fact the transportation to EPCOT and HS as the bus usually stops at GF unless that has changed. So the better question is if you are planning on going to EPCOT multiple days the decision is easy which is BW. If you are staying at the resort more than I would pick the one you like the theming of better.
I will add we like WL I am guessing because of where we live making the theming of WL appealing as we live near Beaches and the whole boardwalk concept is something we can do anytime.

The park buses for WL do not share when going to the parks at this time. When they do share then it is with the Contemporary. They stopped sharing with GF several years ago.

We are going the first week of August.

Have you checked availability or are you just pondering?

For Copper Creek studios, demand can be greater than supply at any time of the year.

For BoardWalk studios, demand can be greater than supply during Food & Wine (and for the standard view studios which require fewer points than other views, at any time of the year).

I don't know if you are thinking of a cash reservation or booking on DVC points. If you are talking about this August, then DVC members have been booking since the 11 month mark.

What about both? Two nights at CCWVL (our fave rooms on property!) to enjoy MK and the monorail options, and two nights at BWV to enjoy HS/Epcot/Boardwalk options. But if I am just comparing resorts I'd pick WL every time.

If it was 3 & 3 I’d definitely be game. Lol. 2 & 2 might be a bit much for my bf.
