BWV Studio - Standard or Preferred ???

Preferred will have a view of water or pool and standard will have a view of trees or parking lot or entrance. Preferred Boardwalk view will have a view of the Boardwalk guaranteed.

Depends on the trip for us. This June we are going for a full week in a one bedroom and wanted a Boardwalk view which we got.

In September we are going 2 days before and 2 days after the Member Cruise. Since we won't be in the room as much and won't be doing cooking etc. we opted for a studio and were able to save points by getting a standard studio for each night.

If the view from the balcony is not all that important to you, then Standard View costs few points per night than the Preferred Views. Standard View is also harder to book than Preferred View for just that reason.

I'm not really clear what you are asking? Suggestions or opinions about what specifically?

There are some "preferred" BWV rooms that have a view of the valet parking lot as well as the water (canal). I had one of these rooms in '03. If your home resort is BWV and you want a preferred view room, use your 11 month window and try and book a boardwalk view---otherwise I'd request a pool view so you avoid that parking lot view we had.
I know many of the standard views overlook the entrance way driveway---alot of people like saving the points and enjoy watching the cars pull up (people watching can be fun!) :flower:
Hope this helps.

We had a ground floor 1 bdrm that overlooked the pool area. It was great being able to walk to the pool from our porch. Was it worth the point difference? Absolutely, but if we weren't on the ground floor with the direct access to the pool, I might lean towards a standard view and save the points. Some of the standard views are a bit far from the "action" but they cut the walking distance to MGM quite a bit.

Want to add some of the preferred view rooms fall into this category as well. We had a very long walk down the hallways to the elevator and to the main pool. I would have preferred a Luna Park pool view for the PV points.

You are right. I forgot about all the water views opposite of the drive. I'd defintely see more value in the standard view rooms at that point.

Just got back from BWV last week. We had a preferred view studio room 5059. We were decided to go at the last minute and waitlisted for a studio. Preferred was our only choice. We loved our room location. We were on the 5th floor close to the elevators. We had a great view of the Epcot sign/Commons Area/Partial BW.

Do you own BW? There are few SV rooms (20% of the total or something) and they are sometimes completely booked by the time the seven month window opens.

If you have the choice, SV rooms are a great value. But unless you are able to reserve early (some BW owners call day by day at 11 months), I wouldn't count on having the choice.

BW views are great.

but the other preferred views aren't -my opinion.

If you get a chance for the BW view go for it. Otherwise just go with the standard view.

I have been getting a standard view for the last 5 years or so and I love it!!!

less points and you can still walk to Epcot and Studios.
