I have heard somewhere that some studios at BWV have a daybed + sofabed and the queen bed. The occupancy for these rooms is 4 adults + 1 child. Can anyone confirm this and provide opinions.

thanks

That's correct. A dedicated studio (no connecting door) has a small daybed. It is not equivalent to the daybeds in resorts like GF or Poly, which are about the size of a twin bed. The BW daybed is basically a bench. Maybe someone can post a picture. From what I've heard, DVC will not guarantee a dedicated room.

The bench is so small that my then nine year old daughter was too big to sleep on it. It is a nice place to put a piece of luggage.

What about a 3 year old. Is it comfy?

Also, can you get studios that connect...and can that be guaranteed

Studios do not connect to other studios. They only connect to 1 bedrooms (to form a 2 bedroom).

If you know what a deacon's bench is then that would give you some idea of the size we're talking about. It's pretty hard, I wouldn't sleep on it. We just stored our purchases on it.

We were in BWV Studio Room 5065 (great view of Village Green and Boardwalk and Crescent Lake and Epcot fireworks) last Easter and this room had a daybed in it. We requested it when making the reservations but it was not guaranteed. We have 3 kids so we needed it, but brought along a twin air mattress in case we did not have a room with the daybed. My 7 year old slept on it just fine and actually traded places one night with my 11 year old daughter who slept fine also. We were there for 4 nights. But, anyone in my family can tell you that my kids have always been able to sleep wherever they drop- like restaurants, cars, etc. They are just not picky sleepers. (another story on the eating part, lol) You should be fine.

Someone posted a picture at one time...the padding on it is about 2 inches thick and it's not long at all. I don't think they were ever meant for people to sleep on.

As I said on your other thread on the Resorts Board, the Studio Plus has an upholstered luggage rack that they call a daybed. My son refused to sleep on it since he was used to sleeping in a bed. This in no way resembles a bed other than it has sheets on it. Your child will not be comfortable in it. Do a search on BWV daybed and you will find a picture of it.

You cannot request this room and will not be guaranteed it. If your child is under the age of three, he/she can sleep in the pack and play or with you and your wife in the queen sized bed.

When my daughter was 4, she loved having her own little bed and was really excited about it. After a day at the parks or swimming at the pool, she probably would have slept anywhere though. If I recall correctly, the bed is about the size of a rectangular crib mattress. My son was 2 and still in the pack and play crib. Not having to open the sofa couch left a lot more floor space in the room.
