Do any of the studios at BWV have a daybed in them?
and if yes is that a booking category or a request?
Thanks for any info:thumbsup2!

Studios have one queen bed and one pull out sofa (I believe that it is a full).

BWV has a lot of "dedicated" studios meaning those that are not attached to a 1BR. All of those dedicated studios have the daybed. Those studios used to be a booking category but now are just a not-guaranteed request.

Note, that the daybed is small. At best it will sleep a child under 12.

Thanks for the info drusba! We are just satying here for 2 or 3 nights to be closer to HS for Star Wars Weekend before we move to our SSR 1 bedroom for a week. My kids are 7,5 and 2 so one of them should have no problem fitting in it I hope. Thanks again.

It's not a daybed like the ones you see at the deluxes. It's a small bench with a thin pad on it. I'm not even sure it was originally intended for sleeping on, it looks to me like the kind of thing you'd sit on for a minute to put your shoes on.

I know some people's kids have slept on it, though, and hopefully someone will be able to post a photo.

This page has a photo of a BW daybed:

That's from the Inn side but the Villa daybed is pretty much the same. IMO you're walking a thin line between a child being so small that he/she would roll off and the child being too big to fit comfortably. I can't imagine anyone older than 5 or 6 could sleep well on that.

Where I come from, we call that a bench. :rotfl:

Here's a pic from the villa studio:

It's definitely pretty small- I could sit on it to read with my feet stretched out, but there wasn't room for me to lay down (I'm 5'6"). But it would probably be ok for a kid. :)

Thanks for the picture!:thumbsup2--- definitely smaller than I thought--- it will be a nice place to sit and put shoes on or an alternative for using the pak n play, if we get one but now it's also no biggie if we don't!

We just got back from a stay in a dedicated studio. The multicolored cushion cover is actually removable and reveals a fully made "bed" underneath. My 5 year old slept comfortably in the bed for 6 nights. I would compare it to the size of a toddler bed and the mattress is about the same thickness. My DD really liked her cozy little spot and it was plenty big enough.

We have a standard studio reserved. 40 days from now!.

Our daughter still sleeps with us, so

would we have more walking around space if we did not request a dedicated?

Do the daybeds tak-up square footage or are those rooms larger?

The "daybed" isn't where the door to the connecting one bedroom would be, but that's the space it takes up....instead of having a door to look at, you have the convenience of a bench to sit/have a child sleep on, or a place to put your packages. It's located right as you come in, after the kitchenette. That's how we generally have used it, as a place to put things on!

Studio room sizes are the same regardless of whether it is dedicated or part of a lock-off with a 1BR. Yes, the daybed takes up some room but it is really not a significant difference. Walk around space really depends on the couch. When folded up as a couch you have a lot of space, when out as a bed you can still walk around but it is much less room.

what you are looking for is pluses - not all dedicated have the day bed. Only some of them.

dvc use to allow us to ask for the pluses - but think they learned they can rent them for 5 people. (miss the old days when members came first)

these are bigger. the studios at BWV have 2 sides - one is smaller than OKW the other is larger (these are larger)

359' and 412'

First, spiceycat, ROLL TIDE!

Second, do you have a list of room #'s that fall in this category?
or are those the only 2 you know of?

We have rented DVC points and have reserved TWO standard view studios @BWV in March 2012. We have requested that the studios be adjacent. What are the chances of one or both of our studios having this so called daybed/deacon's bench? Like the option of having one of the little kids (2 1/2 and 5yo) sleeping on it! TIA :flower3:
