Is the twin murphy bed in the studio side of a 2BR actually twin sized?

I am staying at BWV with some friends next week in a 2BR. We're in the King room, one couple is in the 2nd bedroom and the 3rd is in the living room. The 3rd couple was an add-on and they were told they were on the living room murphy bed and the seemed OK with it at the time. Now ... one of them called me today and asked if there was a roll away for one of them since they think the murphy bed will not be comfortable for both of them. I told them, sorry no roll aways at DVC. He said, can I bring a twin air mattress? I said, yes air mattresses are allowed but no extra bedding is not provided. Our friends in the studio side will not be using their twin murphy bed but will probably be using the queen murphy bed in their room. Will my friend be able to use the bedding off of the twin murphy bed on his twin air mattress, or are the twin murphy beds a unique size?

Unfortunately, the single Murphy beds in BWV studios are smaller than a twin. Some smaller adults find them okay but other adults don’t. I’m not sure whether you can remove the mattress or not. Edit - I just realized you’re asking about the sheets and blanket for that single bed. Yes, those could be used on an air mattress in the living room.

If it helps, the mattress on the living room Murphy is a queen, not a double.

Thanks :). I told them them that the murphy bed was a queen sized and not a "standard" full sized pull out couch and they seemed undeterred about bringing the air mattress. I don't care as long as they have bedding for it.

Yes, there will be bedding. If the little Murphy isn’t made up when they open it, check the closet in the studio side.

I do hope they try the queen size Murphy bed before ruling it out. I have found the queen Murphy beds to be just as comfortable as the standard beds, with the same mattress on both. I would much rather sleep on the Murphy than an air mattress. When traveling with family I often volunteer to sleep on the queen Murphy bed because it’s so comfortable.

Thanks everyone! I'll let him know that he doesn't have to bring bedding for the air mattress and that the twin sheets will fit. That's one less thing he'll have to pack.

The mattresses on the "twin" size Murphy's in studios that pull out of cabinets measure 33"W by 72"L, smaller than normal twin size which is 38" x 75". They are OK for someone 5'8" or smaller, but someone taller can have issues.

I wasn't interested in the mattress. I was interested in the sheets.

You originally asked about the size of the mattress in order to see if those sheets would fit a twin air mattress. I assumed by @drusba stating the dimensions of the mattress that would answer the question in a round about way?
