BWV standard WL chances

So - we just bought a contract loaded with some banked 2015 points. The points just came through and I was able to start a DVC account. BWV is our home, and I was able to book a stay for the last weekend in Sept minus one Sunday night in the standard category. I waitlisted the night, and booked a backup stay at pool/garden view. Is there any chance of the WL coming through when we only put it in 9.5 months out?

There's always a chance, but standard view is a small category and your booking during Food & Wine. I had a difficult time booking that weekend at 8am the day it opened. How many people will cancel? Not very many.

Kind of what I figured, but I was surprised that 2 of our 3 nights were still open. It's the middle one that's missing, unfortunately, but we'll wait a while and see what happens. If it doesn't come up I'll be releasing two nights, so maybe we aren't the only ones in this boat.

I'd say that your chances are fairly good. It's one night 9.5 months from now. There's quite a bit of changing that can go on between now and then.

I would keep looking online as well as having it in your waitlist. This year, we booked several night at BWV for November. We waitlisted the Friday at BWV and 3 nights at AKL. I found the night at BWV by accident looking online before it popped up in my waitlist. Would it have made it there? Don't know. Our other nights at AKL came through the waitlist. Don't give up hope, and just keep watching.

I too think your chances are good at this point. One nights are easier to see filled and like mentioned, there is a lot of movement. Some that own BWV will book standard from the start but at 7 months, change resorts. And, there are times when I book at BWV for F & W on dates that I might want to go, even though my plans are not yet final. A few times, I have ended up canceling when I knew we were not going to make it!

If it's a studio your chances are less likely than if it's a 1BR. 2BR is less likely too due to 2BR at BWV consisting of studios and 1BR combos... lock offs. Studios are in the most demand.
