Are BWV standard view rooms being walked everyday for the entire year? Not only the 11 month day becomes unavailable, but also the day after that. These rooms used to be walked during certain times of the year, but maybe that has changed. Does anyone know if this goes on all year long?

Studio? Kinda looks like it - Boardwalk view as well…
But here’s the thing about walking - as the walkers modify/move up their dates - you can usually pick up what you want (albeit piecemeal) behind them…

2 bedroom, but BWV are lockoffs. I don't want July, but am looking at late fall 2025. I've just been following the availability and see it being walked.

Good luck - all you can do it try

I've noticed the same thing. We are new BWV owners so I wanted to get an idea how hard the standard view would be. I check every few days and I see what you see about availability. I'm hoping I can go in behind them and pick up the days I want for future trips. It's frustrating

You can go in behind them and pick up days, as long as you aren’t trying for popular times. Then the walkers stop, and there’s nothing to pick up. It is frustrating.

Late Fall will be a challenge for standard and Boardwalk view villas. Walking will be happening, but many of the walkers want the late fall dates, so there may not be nights to "pick up" after they've walked on by. Be ready to waitlist and stalk. It can be done. I did it for a 2-bedroom SV the last week of October this year.

If stalking/walking/wait listing isn't something you want to do, best to just plan on preferred view. Those are relatively easy to get when the 11 month window opens.

Agree. I've enjoyed some of my preferred view rooms in the past, so will probably do that.

It stinks because of points but we always just plan for preferred, especially if we're trying for a 2BR

I have my husband and I on the computer at 8am every day for two weeks before our 11mo expected vacation. My heart pounding. Fingers ready to go crazy the keyboard.

Oftentimes I get nothing but then, so far, we will finally get a hit on one of the days, then I walk it. Stinks but it’s now the way of bwv std Dvc land.

We don’t plan on going back to Disney until Xmas week 2026. Fingers crossed. I’m hoping Xmas week itself is not a popular week….

Yes, it's the way of bwv std now, I guess. The fastest computer wins.

BWV standard studios/2BRs (all are lock-offs and thus 2BRs disappear due to studio demand) usually fill right at, or sometimes even before, 8 a.m. eastern at 11-months out from every possible start date of the year. That a member does not want July but instead late in the year makes no difference. Moreover July 7-31 is the second lowest overall DVC demand time of the year at WDW. The high demand fall season that runs from late Sep to marathon weekend in Jan makes July look like an off-season.

That year-round 11-month problem for BWV standard studios/2BRs actually started before the Pandemic. Before 2017, the rooms had the problem for the high demand fall season but only a limited number of times the rest of the year. In 2016, the rooms were refurbed and DVD added the Murphy bed that pulls out of a cabinet beneath the TV, and changed the room capacity to 5 (plus a child under three) instead of the previous 4. That caused a significant increase in demand for studios and by 2019 that entire year reservation problem existed.

Walking takes place but even that can require repeated tries because it can be difficult to even get a reservation for any date of the year to begin a walk. Some have been successful in getting a room shortly after the 11-month window passes as walkers pass by. But that requires constantly checking for openings, and some luck to actually get all the nights you want.

The boardwalk view studios/2BRs have the same problem during that fall season but just once in a while the rest of the year. Even the pool/garden studios /2BR can have the problem for the highest DVC demand weeks of the year -- first two weeks of Dec and Christmas week. And for the fall and winter season of 2023-2024, those also often booked right at 11-months out, the cause being the refurb that started in Sep 2023 and took many rooms out of service while being done.

Ahh I guess Xmas week will be competitive. I have a few months before booking for December 2026….

Yes they are. And because of the lockoff it's become nearly impossible to get a std two bedroom anymore (I had no issue getting a std 2br and two std studios for June 2023 and I didn't walk since I have a June use year). I've only booked std or boardwalk view for over twenty years and this year I've given up even trying to get a walk in, I'm glad I have enough points to get the 2br and studio I need in preferred.

Wish Disney would implement a rule where you can only edit your reservation once a week (with no restrictions on cancelling) to discourage walkers. It's honestly so ridiculous.

I hadn't realized it has gotten this difficult to book those views. I, too, am glad I can get the preferred view, if needed.
