BWV Standard View?

glad you got what you wanted. would suggest BWI too over BWV. BWV generally has cash reservations for lagoon/pool views - this lagoon going toward Studios.

now long ago they did have standard cash reservations - but really think member complainted enough and they have stopped that practice.

the problem with getting a 2-bedroom at BWV - is there are no 2-bedrooms only 1-bedroom and studio. so if the studio part is gone (and it alot of the time) you can't get a 2-bedroom here. now 1-bedroom you can definitely get - but 2-bedroom because of the setup are harder to get.

very happy you got what you needed. Now hope the wedding lives up to your expectation. are you getting married in the epcot section instead of the wedding chapel?

Thank you! I am counting my blessings that we got the 2 bedroom for when we needed. It is perfect that it is a lockoff - my 19 year old son will be on the studio (2nd bedroom) side and it will give us major privacy for the weekend. Then off he goes home and we will be in a 1 bedroom.

We have both been married before and we are doing the "escape" wedding for up to 20 people in attendance. Perfect for us! We don't want the wedding pavilion as it is huge and we'd look silly with that much space. We are trying to get Seabreeze Point on the boardwalk. It is a pavilion/gazebo on the water as you are walking from BWV to Epcot. It will be small and elegant - just as we both want. :goodvibes

We will have to think about BWV vs BWI for the in-laws. Money is not really an issue for them, and they want to be close to us. They both have lung cancer (and are doing well) so the treatments have gotten them both tired - zapped energy. This is why we would put them on the BWV side- the resort is huge. I think ECVs may be a good option for them and we will discuss. I would have loved to stay at AKV again as the resort is soooo beautiful with stunning views, but BW makes it so easy for them to get around. And us - to be honest. I just love the theming at BW.

Anywho... any suggestions on room locations are appreciated. I need to get our requests in. Probably just going to put the in-laws close to us the first part and then try to get the best standard view 1 bedroom we can for the rest!

I love my standard views at the BWV for the point savings. I also really like the view of the front of the Boardwalk Resort! BUT, we've been right smack behind a tree on our last three visits. What are the odds????? At next check-in, I'm going to beg front desk to not put us behind a tree..............:3dglasses

There is only 1 set of elevators @ BWV so I would think ground floor would be easiest.
I think the best way to get room proximity would be You booking a cash room through MS. Then DVC can "link" the two reservations together, and you can put in the ground floor near each other request in both rooms.
The hallways with standard views are standard view on one side and pool view on the other (so it is possible to be across the hall)...but requests are not guaranteed. They may be able to request near elevator for medical reasons, but that increases the chances of getting a full HA room.

seabreeze point is lovely and I would not consider it all that small. You can walk by it on your way to Epcot (if you walk)

sine you want to be close to your in-laws then you really don't have a choice - you need to be close to the elevators or if you are very lucky - first floor. these are not the best rooms. would ask for both. tell them why you need easy access to the elevators.

the views are better further away from the elevators.

that say the views across the hall are the main pool view and they should be able to rent one of these. these are near the elevators.

since there is only one section of elevators - this is a must for your trip.

Thank you for your reply, Pat!

Will have to see what to do about room placement. They can walk fine, but get tired easily. They both run errands and shop and stuff. So a long hallway may not be a huge issue.

By "small" I meant the wedding itself. We are only going to have a dozen people there. :)

if they can walk up and down steps - then you will love BWV - there are short cuts but they involve the steps. hey I get tired easily but can manage the steps at BWV.

The Standard View is just fine for me. We look out at DTD, see the hot air balloon, and look at the trees in the distance. We aren't in the room that much anyway.

Thanks for all the well wishes. Anyone have any suggestions on a room number or location to ask for??? We are also going to book a cash reservation for my fiance's parents. They will need to be close to an elevator - long walks are not for them....

It sounds like you should make just one request for them...close to the elevators. Since requests are not guarantees (not even that they'll be close to what you request), I wouldn't put in any additional request other than close to the elevators.

Time to drag out the old standby "maps". :)

This one shows the various room categories at BWV. The Standard View rooms are designated by the green line.

At the "top" of the green line is the only elevator bank at BWV. Rooms far from the elevators frankly have a substantial walk.

Of course, none of the walks to rooms are much compared to getting around the parks.

Even though the standard views are of the parking lot and driveway, aren't they separated by a fair amount of green space as opposed to being just a couple feet from the asphalt?

As you can see from the aerial map above, yes there is a fair amount of landscaped area. And if you are at the "bottom" of the green line along the end of the building, you overlook a pond, valet parking and the tennis courts.

I agree with Granny - request close to the elevators for your in-laws. Remember that the lobby is on 2nd floor. Close to the elevators is a better solution for them.

For yourselves, request upper floor across from the bus stop. If you're lucky, you will then have a view of the IllumiNations' upper level fireworks from the balcony. There will be a nice lawn, flowers and landscaping between your balcony and the blacktopped areas of the front entrance. If your in-laws can walk short distances and are close to the elevators, it won't take them long to get to your room. They will almost surely be assigned a Pool/Garden view room if they pay cash. See if CRO will note the request is for medical issues.

Congratulations and sending pixie dust to help you get the Seabreeze location for the weeding itself. I think it is a beautiful spot!

You do not have to take steps at all at BWV! Just take the elevator to the 1st floor to get to the boardwalk, or go to the 2nd floor to go to the bus stop.

If seabreeze point is unavailable :( then there is a gazebo at yacht club used for weddings. There are locations in world showcase too.

Thanks! It does look like some can be a long walk. Do you know if its all floors or just the top floor?
