I am buying rooms cash, we usually stay at Old Key West. We are going to stay at the BWV this time. Would you pay the extra for a Pool/ Garden View at the BWV over the standard View? Are all the Pool/Garden nice views?

Standard view is parking lot and valet area. Pool/Garden is a better view IMO.

Last time I checked they would only sell Pool/Garden views for cash reservations.

I was very satisfied with the standard view that I had at BWV.

I would definitely choose standard over pool if I were using POINTS!

We always stay standard view. 1 time we decided to use more points for a boardwalk view. Never again. We were right outside the basketball throw. I think I was hearing bouncing balls in my sleep for weeks and boy people are noisy walking back to there rooms when the clubs close at 2am. Unless you are at animal kingdom in a savannah view no other view is worth more money or points in my opinion.

We LOVE the standard view when using our points. We always look out over the lawn and driveway. Some of those trees are growing tall enough that it looks very green and lovely. We would much rather save our points so we can go again, stay longer, etc.

We book standard view with points. Garden/pool is a toss up. Sometimes you get a tree blocking your view! What is the difference $$ on cash ressies. That would influence my decision.

I'm a view person, but I don't want a noisy view like some of the others mentioned above. Not knowing cost difference it's sort of hard for me to put into perspective. I would think that if you like a view the Village Green or the quiet pool or a canal view at BWV can't be beat. If you really think you spend really very little time in your room then a standard view would be the way to go. And perhaps you'll get a nice view anyway.

Pool is a bit better, but I wouldn't pay extra for it...

Value wise, standard view is the way to go. We always go with Boardwalk View since it's the same point value as Garden/Pool view (not sure about cash value though). The noise has never bothered us with a Boardwalk View, even when on lower floors.

If you are going through CRO, typically you get pool/garden view rooms when booking standard view. They typically book all cash reservations as standard.

Ive done BW view once and it was nice but I prefer not to spend the extra points. We've done standard view 3 times and each time requested and got the expansive view of the lawn and trees to the left of the big driveway as you head in and it's been lovely!

we've got to say the Boardwalk view is the way to go. I have them all and it does make a differenc have a great trip.

My family and I have rented DVC points to use @BWV in March 2012. We have secured TWO standard view studios! Any tips, advice or suggestions anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated! :goodvibes

I would have the owner called and make sure they note you are traveling with other family so that your studios are at least on the same floor. (If that is an interest to you.) We just returned and both us and my DD/family had studios. We arrived first and she a week later. Since I've done this before and know how hard it is to get requests at BWV, I made no request on her unit and when we arrived we asked if her room had been assigned yet to be near ours. We were told to check later. So we checked the next day and was told she would be in the same hall. We were lucky as she was about 5 units away, which was very close and we were happy. The last time we traveled with them we were in the same hall but on two different sides of the resort....it was a PITA. We were near jellyrolls and she was near the tennis court....but the same level (both ground floor). I was shocked to get 2 of my request on this last trip. I requested ground floor/dedicated and got both!! But I decided not to do online checkin this time and got my requests. In the past, every time I do online checkin I get none of my request. Crazy.

Lampy, I do believe you are correct. You can't get standard view from DVC for cash, nor from Disney Reservation Center for cash (they call it standard, but it is really pool/garden view).

We had a great view of the Epcot Fireworks from our Standard View room this April.

Thank you for your response. I do believe our reservations are "linked" -
I did ask the DVC owner to request adjacent or adjoining studios ( but I am under the impression there are no adjoining studios @BWV.)

You are correct, there are no studios next to each other. At the BWV you will find a one bedroom next to a studio so that is can be used as a 2 bedroom. Since you both have standard view you can't be across from each other either, since standard is on one side of the hall and preferred/pool view is on the other side of the hall. Hopefully same floor and have it checked as "traveling with" another family will help. I find after that I made no other request as your request would affect 2 studios. I was thrilled to be 5 units and an exit door away from my DD and family last week as that was the closest we've ever been. We were in room 1123 and she was in room 1113. Normally we just get a 1 bedroom or 2 bedroom, but she wasn't certain if she was going, so I booked 2 studios that trip. Good luck.
