BWV Standard view one and two bedrooms after the 11 month window...

This is inspired by another post in my other thread about my chances of getting a two bedroom standard today...

At BWV, if you don't call the first few days of your 11 month window, do you NEVER have a chance at a one or two bedroom standard view room?

That's the impression I'm getting.

I called a week later than my call days and there's no 2 bedroom standards. Will there never be? Does this mean that the DVC guests who own at other DVC resorts can NEVER stay at BWV when they call at the 7 month window?

This is very upsetting to me. I knew it was hard and that standard view was popular but I didn't know that if I didn't call the first chance I got (and waited only a week) that I couldn't get in.

If I had known this, I would have probably bought my DVC points somewhere else...

This will really only be a pain when we want to invite friends or family as we won't need a 2 bedroom otherwise but still it's a bummer.

get on the daily wait list - not the whole time wait list (okay I don't know what they call this one)

when any of your days come in - you will get it - it might be scarey at first - you know you get Mon and thru - but not Tues or Wed - but most of the time you will get them all if you have enough time. also make sure that MS can make the reservations without having to call you to confirm.

have you though about getting 2 preferred studios - I don't think they are much more if any than a 2-bedroom standard - I know the WOW! factor is not there.

I just posted in my other thread that I just got off the phone with MS and the CM was MUCH nicer than the one I got this morning. I called because someone else here suggested I reserve what is available and not wait for the whole week.

She checked availability with me and told me 3 nights were available. She helped me through it (whether I'd loose any points if I canceled etc...) and we ended up booking 2 of the 3 available nights. One of the nights fell in this use year (November 30) and the rest in my December use year. She said I'd loose the November 30 points if I canceled one of the reservations so I opted to be waitlisted for it even though it's available...I hope that was best.

She then told me that I could get a phone call or a confirmation letter. The lady this morning didn't even mention that. I asked her to explain and she did. I chose the confirmation letter. Sounds like that is what I should have done??

Then she also said I could call and check on it and I thanked her and told her I'd probably call once a week. She said that would be good and that it's better to call at the end of the week.

She was VERY nice, indeed. I feel a little better now. I didn't even have to borrow any points.

It's going to drive me crazy, though, wondering if we'll ever get the remaining 3 nights!! She seemed optomistic, though, since we do have 11 months!

The first 2 weeks of December are very popular at BWV, you might not have as much difficulty other times of the year. There are not that many standard views available. I just finished a day by day reservation for a 1 bedroom standard for Dec 6 to 12. This will be the third year in a row that time of year. In 2001, I called on the 11 month mark of my checkout and got it but I heard on these boards that some people called later in the day for 1 bedroom standards and did not get all their nights, so I was lucky. So last year I called day by day.

A friend of mine booked a standard studio about 10 days ago for 2/1/03. It was only for a Saturday night though.

I was able to get a 2br std for the week after Presdients week at about the 8 1/2 month mark for our 2002 trip. I think it has more to do with time of year then anything.

They don't all go on the first day. I booked for middle of October in early part of December. I got a 2 bedroom standard without any problems.

I booked a 1 BDR standard view just yesterday. We booked for Nov. 30th - Dec. 9th.

I've always had pretty good luck booking the standard view. I hope the waitlist comes through for you!!

I had a bit of a hard time booking I booked a 2BR Standard from 12/1/2003 - 12/8/2003...

I booked day by day starting at Jan 6th...

I was able to get the 2BR Standard from 12/2-12/8, but had to get a Preferred View for 12/1....

I wait listed myself for 12/1, so hopefully that'll go through...
