We are a few days away to book at 7 mos window soon, never stayed at BWV, so not sure what standard is as far as views. Anything in particular we should ask for?

Generally speaking, higher up and further from the lobby have better views of some high fireworks. But lower floors close to the lobby are more convienent to get to the pool, lobby and parks.

For standard view, I always request top floor, across from the bus stop. The standard views face the front driveway.

We had a standard one bedroom in August. I didn't think I was going to like it...it was on the ground floor, with a tree in front of it. No, I wasn't really able to see the fireworks, but...I walked out my door, turned left and took an immediate left and out the door to the walkway that led across the lawn, across the street and to the bus stop. That was a wonderful thing. So much nicer than traveling down to the second floor, through the lobby, and down that covered walk to the buses.
If I turned right out my door, the doorway to the quiet pool area (and smoking area for my eldest dd) was about 10' down the hall. It was a wonderful place to be.
I have one booked again for Dec...can't wait to see what I get this time. A nicely renovated room would be nice.

JT...I agree with crisi's assessment of the options. We've been close to the elevators (only one bank of them for the whole resort) a few times and while it is convenient it is a little noisier because you are also closer to the drive-up/registration area.

Next time we book standard view BWV I think we'll ask for something farther away from the elevators. We don't mind the hallway walk at all. :)

You've probably seen this, but here's a recap of where the SV rooms are at BWV:

We like the rooms overlooking the valet parking lot. Seeing ToT in the distance is a plus for me. And the rooms in that location make for an easier to walk to Hollywood Studios. (There is a stairwell in that wing leading down to ground level.) These rooms are pretty close to the self-park lot, too.
