BWV self parking during F&W in October concerns

Due to no parking fees for day guests and the lax controls in the past to control parking, I'm concerned for my upcoming October trip. We own at BWV and have stayed there in October over 8 times now, and every time we have had trouble finding parking when coming back in the afternoon and early evening. I have seen the parking lot magically clear out after Epcot closes. With the huge area set aside for valet, plus the construction equipment filling up the overflow lot across the street, I'm really concerned about a perfect storm of not enough parking for resort guests. I can't be the only one.
I would hope WDW would have their ducks in a row to be prepared to handle it but I've seen in the past they don't really care. Sure they might turn away a few people with no reservations, but that just means people will make a dining reservation at a Boardwalk restaurant and promptly go into Epcot/Studios for the day.
No charge for parking for us as we are staying on points but I'm more concerned about actually having a parking spot. Has anyone had to valet because of no parking spots? I have in the past but because of the new fees if I had to again I would take it up with the manager and request it be comped.

Yep. Gartner is happening mid-month. It legitimately destroys parking at Boardwalk.

Yes, that was the group. I just checked their dates for this October and thank goodness we'll be gone before they start!

They know this is a problem and I think just don’t care. We have had problems parking at bwv during food and wine for years. One year, we had a standard view villa and watched the cars clearing out after illuminations, while we had to park out by the road.

I raised the issue with the bwv manager who assured me that they were working on a solution to the bwv parking problems - the huge valet lot, the construction equipment and the day Parkers.

That was 4 years ago and nothing has changed. It may even be worse now.

First time in 15 years that we didn’t book Bwv for October. We moved to mid September. Mostly because October isn’t fun for us anymore

When we stayed there during F&W they had a lot opened across the street behind the gas station that was just for day parkers. There was a big sign and at the guard shack they made sure we were staying there before allowing us through the gate into the regular parking lot.
