BWV Satisfaction Poll

This poll is for the BOARDWALK VILLAS.
A reply on a recent post looking for positive reports on BCV stated when
“we do a survey and have people rate their experiences at the resorts. Overwhelmingly, the polls indicate a high satisfaction level with all resorts.”
With this in mind, I am going post polls for each of the DVC resorts. This is not a resort bashing opportunity, but a time to rate your experience at a resort. Please only vote if you had stayed at the resort, not just visited. Because people rate problems differently – some hate lint on the carpet others don’t, some don’t mind waiting ½ hour for housekeeping to fix something others do, I am leaving it open. Rate it on a personal level for yourself.

Just wanted to say that I think these polls will be interesting. Is somone going to compile results?

Our first stay at a deluxe was BWI in 2000 as land part of the cruise - we loved it enough to rent a std 1 br in 2002 - loved that enough to join DVC with BWV 'home'. Last trip was Jan '04 in a 2 br, b'walk view. The room and view were both excellent - plenty of space and privacy for all of us. Enjoying the balcony in the early morning and evenings was sooo relaxing! Now that our kids are older they like being near some 'action' where they can go off on their own and enjoy a night out - and I can sit in with the grandkids and still watch the fireworks in the distance and the people below (or put them in the stroller and find something fun to do that doesn't involve taking a bus or boat)- and the parents are close by if I need them! Our only problems were very minor - no pillows in the closet for the lr sofabed - called and had them in the room within 10 minutes - CM even asked if we wanted more than 2. Realized on 2nd day that there were no extra rolls of tp - at first I was a little annoyed, but when a smiling little lady knocked on the door 5 minutes later with her arms full of tp rolls I had to laugh - she asked if we needed anything else and when we said no, she said "if you do, just call us!"

My DH is not a WDW lover - but he really enjoys the BWV - keeps us all happy ! BTW, I voted excellent, exceeded expectations - hope my sister's trip later this month goes as well!

But by definition I should have voted met all expectations.... My expectations are VERY high and BWV always comes through.

Stayed at BWV last summer and was actually quite disappointed. The 1BR we stayed in was much, much smaller than I ever imagined. I was also shocked that the Boardwalk for the most part rolled up its sidewalks quite early in the evening for a place that is billed as a nightime place for entertainment, shopping, and eating. The resort was clean, the rooms were fairly quiet, and the staff was friendly. But we were very disappointed given the build up the resort had received from some many other DVCer's and DISer's.

I voted, based on my expectations for a 5-star resort / hotel. If I had the same experience staying at a Holiday Inn, I would have rated the Holiday Inn much higher, as my expectations would have been lower.

We just stayed at the BWV in July. I was really impressed. We stayed in a 2BR standard view. It was wonderful. Loved the pool and the pool bar. All the CM's were nice. It's a great resort.

Me too....I've always stayed at BWV....and even when we had problems they always exceed my expectations in fixing them...

I've stayed there 5 times, I own there, I voted good. A couple of annoyances in general about the resort. 1. The lack of dedicated self-parking for hotel guests. 2. They should have put additional elevators at the far ends.

I don't recall any major problems with the rooms.

I love that they now guarantee boardwalk view, my biggest disappointment on my first trip was not getting the bw view when I made the res at 11 months. The last 4 trips were standard view, a great points saver.

I checked "good." The resort was fine, our room location was good for a standard. Our carpet was wet when we checked in. We thought the carpets had been freshly shampooed, so not a problem. However we had a plumbing issue later in the stay - which may explain the wet carpet. Didn't negatively impact our stay.

I love the location, but my heart belongs to the Wilderness Lodge.

Guru...thanks for posting these excellent polls. I think you've done a good job at defining the various votes. And to me, any vote for good or excellent is pretty good considering the high expectations we have of the DVC resorts.

I voted excellent since we've always had clean rooms, great interaction with the CM's and just a wonderful overall experience with the resort.

BWV is our home resort and we love it! The resort, the location, the boardwalk, the pool, community hall, everything is great!

So glad to see this poll and thread! I haven't voted, yet... we just rented points for BW studio preferred view. I was wondering were I could get more information about this resort, what the rooms are like, how to get coffee, what to do with our two small DD's..... Just tons of questions and VERY excited about our first stay here.

I chose "Good - Met all Expectations" because I thoroughly enjoyed the resort when we stayed there December 2003. The check-in was bumpy but the overall atmosphere didn't let that put a damper on our stay.

I look forward to revisiting BWV.

BWV is our home (and favorite) DVC resort. All of our visits would be in the 'excellent' category, except one in the 'Really Disappointed- affected stay'. I HATED, HATED the room. Others have loved it, but I was in tears (that has NEVER happened in any , room, anywhere) - to each their own. Since I couldn't say excellent, I voted 'Good'.
