thanks!can anyone tell me what is the difference between the Standard view, and preferred? Which do each look over? We are going to be renting points to stay in a studio, and we are looking for more info on the BWV studiosthanks!

There are definitely studios that overlook the Boardwalk. On the map, you would find them scattered throughout the area covered by the blue line.thank-you for the maps! So as I can tell the Studios only either overlook the entrance to the resort (standard) OR the pool/gardens (preferred) there are no studios that overlook the actual boardwalk? When I look up how many points I will need it says for Standard 160, for preferred 200....there is no Boardwalk view option. AM I nuts or is this correct? Just getting my facts straight to narrow down our choices...AKV,BWI or BCV...but it seems that the BCV views for the studios are not all that desirable?

Boardwalk view villas cost the same number of points as the Pool/Garden villas. But Boardwalk view is a separate booking category. You know when you book if you got one or not.
The Boardwalk view rooms go fast and if you want one, you'll need to find someone to book for you as soon as the 11 month window opens for your dates.
I don't want to give trouble with our friend or have her on the phone forever checking on too many places so we are narrowing down to 3 places. All I know is that when I clicked on the Points Calculator it had only 2 options for BWV standard or preferred in the Studio category. Again thanks so much and keep more hints coming!
this helps alot thanks! When calling in to book tomorrow at least we know what to have her ask for. We are interested in BWV either a pool view or a Boardwalk view would be great! AKV we would like a pool view room also, BCV not really sure on that one??I don't want to give trouble with our friend or have her on the phone forever checking on too many places so we are narrowing down to 3 places. we have stayed there 2x now in a non dvc room and loved it! Our younger son is on the Autism spectrum and while we loved looking at the animals at the overlook and other spots around the resort he has a fear of having a room with the animals right outside?!?! He has voiced this concern before, so we get the cheaper room
He would not sleep otherwise, believe me I know it sounds weird, so we are down to BWV and AKV...leaning a bit more towards BWV because it would be something different and we will be celebrating our 15th anniv.
Thanks for the map. We are planning and have begun to book for next year's girls trip and one room will be BW view since I will be able to book that with my new BWV points next week!!! But, the other rooms will not be able to be booked until the 7 month window. This year, we got lucky and got BW view room but that may not happen again.
At least now I know that if all that is left is preferred, I can make us a grand gathering and request rooms near each other--at least there will be chance to be in the same hallway.
I thought grand gatherings went the way of free valet parking for DVC members. Gone.

I thought just the grand gatherings experiences were eliminated (dessert party, etc).
Thanks - I didn't know that.I thought grand gatherings went the way of free valet parking for DVC members. Gone.
Yep - no more grand gatherings after sometime this Dec I think. Of course a benefit of the new booking system and single reservation number is supposedly so that it is known that a group is together and they were going to try and place people in rooms that are close to each other. Now that may work as well as the segmented dining did.........![]()
