Given some of the recent posts regarding the condition of BWV rooms (especially vs. newly-refurbished BWI), does anyone have more details on the BWV room refurb which was announced at the annual meeting on 12/9? I'm wondering if there is a schedule yet, and exactly what is going to be replaced (besides the TVs).

I would assume it will be similar to the recently completed refurb of VWL; that is, soft goods (new carpet, drapes, etc.). We're at VWL now, and are very happy with the refurbed room.

The sleep sofas were replaced in the past couple years. If they are going to add flat screen TV's, I think they will have to replace the whole cabinet.

I stayed in a 1 bedroom in October, it looked pretty good.

Our rooms in Oct. and earlier this month were in pretty good shape. I do hope that BWV gets new stoves. Although we rarely use them, the electric burner elements are always out of alignment. I don't understand what is the problem with these ranges. Some of the refrigerators appear to have speckles of rust on the outside, so new ones would be in order. I wonder if drapes which open all the way to one side would not get caught in the balcony doors so much. Almost every room we have ever stayed in had marks or tears on the sheers and drapes because people carelessly closed the doors on them.

The manager at BW we talked to last Sept. said the DVC re-do would be a "soft" refurb, and that meant that "walls wouldn't be moved". He was skittish about going into details. I took it to mean that just about anything else could be included - anything from just fabrics/soft surfaces to maybe including some appliances and furniture. And the TVs, I hope. But he was definite that it WOULD happen in 2009. So I guess we stay tuned for more info. Actually, the SV studio we were in at the time was in very good shape.
