BWV Rehab

We're staying at the BWV's in November. Could anyone update me on the rehab? Have they finished the area with rooms looking toward the Luna Park pool? Have they begun the standard view areas?

As of Wednesday, they were working on the rooms with the Luna Park views (above the entry tunnel near the arcade and health club). They also had some staging on the far end of the building near the valet parking lot. I'm not sure if that's the next area to be done or if they are going to tackle two areas at once. About half of the Luna Park view rooms look to be done at this point.

Our room was in Crest O The Wave right over DVC offices....I still get goosebumps , anyway, the DVC CM's told us that was the next area to be rehabbed. She did not seem to excited as she said they would have to be "tunneled" through. As much as I LOVED being there, I do have to say that it does need a bath.

Since it is so big, the Luna pool area will be done in 2 parts. At the BWV annual meeting last year there was a color-coordinated map showing the dates areas were schedualed to undergo rehab. Since we usually stay in that area and were (now are) planning on being there again this year in early December, I payed attention to that part of the map. One part of the the other was scheduled for the Nov-Dec time frame. This is one of the reasons we decided to go for a standard view this year. We'd rather pay fewer points to look over the entrance than more points to overlook the pool - and scaffolding on the other side.

Wow! I thought the BW views were done already? Didn't they have all the GV done by May? They were actively working on that when we were there in January.

Just concerned as it sounds like my possibility of getting a BW view may be out the window. We requested it at 11mo....but need a smoking villa (2br). If some of those along the BW are still under rehab our chances look slim indeed!

We are now in the process of joining and are wiating for our contract to be recorded. I am 42 and an attorney that works for the State. My DH is 38 and is a repairman. DS is 7 and we are in the process of adopting a little girl. We joined because we love Disney and thought this was a good way to enjoy the magic and give our children something special. We are joining at BCV with 230 points. We might consider a resale add on at Hilton head in a year or two if that resort proves to be magical since it is very near our home. We are definitely middle class, but just love to vacation and we looked at this as a prepaid vacation plan. We knew it was expensive, but felt that it would be worth it.

We were there last week and while scaffolding isn't up it looks like the rooms on the wing to the left of the exit from the tunnel to the pool were closed. All the rooms had stickers on the patio/deck door windows that showed the room number on the outside and I never say anyone on the patio's.
