BWV refurb?

Am I imagining things or did I read somewhere that the villas are going to undergo a refurb in the near future? I did a search and couldn't find anything. Anyone have any info?

From the 2014 Annual Members Meeting Highlights:

In 2015 Disney’s Boardwalk Villas will undergo a soft goods rehab with some hard goods elements, and a fifth sleeper will be added to the Deluxe Studios.

Disney's BoardWalk Villas will undergo a soft goods refurbishment in 2015 "with some hard goods elements." Specifically, the fold-down 5th sleeper is also being added to BoardWalk Studio villas. No date was specified for the BoardWalk renovation start

Does that mean they are adding a fifth sleeper only in the studios and the 1 bedroom will still only accommodate 4?

Just like VWL, only the Studios at BCV & BWV are getting a pull-down sleeper in 2015.

DVC allows 5 in 1-bedrooms (except values at AKV), but the resort won't provide bedding for the 5th (unless in pack n play) in 1-bedrooms with a stated occupancy of 4.

Part of why I bought Poly was to be able to stay in a studio that didn't have the set-up with the folding table in front of the pull-down bed. I was not a fan of it at VWL!

Neither am I and I bought VWL direct over 10 years ago. Also have owned BWV direct for over 10 years.

I do not understand why it has to be all the studios at the older resorts getting this table set-up. Esp. now at BWV. Why not just put that stupid table in the Garden/Pool views and leave the Standard/Boardwalk views as they are.

I sent an email about this directly to DVC, 2 weeks ago, and there reply was, that the pool area was not getting a reno, this year. Just the rooms, which they said would & should be done by mid August.

I saw a post on the facebook DVC group saying the poster had just checked out of BWV and they were working on some rooms in the main pool view area.

I booked a studio pool/garden view for Aug and could put 5 on the resie.

I just did a test because I would like to stay in a refurbed room. I put my dates in for the end of June with five adults for a garden/pool view studio at BWV and it let me. I would never put 5 in a studio but I guess some of the refurb will be done by then.

I tested trying to book 5 in a studio- G/P view now and it let me...for like next week. I guess they already have the 5th bed. I put 5 on my resie for Aug but only 3 will be staying there (other 2 are friends staying off site and we want to do FP+ with them). I agree that 5 in a studio is ...especially since that 5th bed is tiny (for little kids and mine are not little).

we are family of 4, so no cheating just wondering when this will be going on? and will it affect people staying there if it involves adding a murphy bed thingy? Hmmm. keep us all posted !

It's little known but BWV pool/garden view studios have allowed booking 5 for awhile as in many, many months. Might have been related to the little day bed or just a glitch but it's been around so do not think that means you've got the Murphy bed. You're likely to have an issue and only beds for 4 unless you actually arrive after the refurb is done. VWL did not even start allowing the 5 until after everything was completed.

Whatever they are doing has already begun. BWV currently has half the fifth floor blocked off from use -- near the elevator, they have blocked off the hallway that goes to all the standard and many preferred rooms on that floor.

It just makes me a little sad - I liked the refurb they did just a few years ago and am still very surprised they are doing another so quickly. I just really really hope that they are paying more attention to detail than they did at VWL.
