BWV questions

I did go through the history and get the answers to most of my questions, but still wanted a bit more clarification.

We are wanting to book a room at BWV for September 28-October 5, 2008. We want to use points for the first 5 nights (Sunday-Thursday) and pay cash for the last two (Friday-Saturday). We will need to do it at the 7 month window since we do not own there.

In a perfect world, we would want a 1 bedroom standard view, but would take 1 bedroom preferred view if that is what was available.

I also know that this is right at the beginning of the Food and Wine Festival, but I want to believe that since it's the first week that it will still be slow going.

So, how poor do you suppose the odds are of us getting a 1 bedroom of either view for that week?

Also, our home resorts are OKW/SSR...if we booked there first and then wait listed BWV, how does it work with points? If we have enough to cover both reservations (without having to borrow), what happens to the OKW/SSR reservation points? Do they go back into circulation once the reservation is canceled?

Thanks! :goodvibes

I think that a standard view room will be tough to get, but since 1 bedrooms are the easiest to get of the rooms sizes, there is always a chance.
If your points are not borrowed, you can hold both reservations and cancel one when you complete the other (or give up on the other). Just be sure to do it before the 31 day window. Good luck!

It will be tough but there is a chance. Consider booking your home resort for this time frame and waitlist for BWV. But waitlist for a prefferred view since this will be easier to get. If there are points left from your previous reservation they will just go back into your account as long as its before the 31 day mark. One would assume though, that a preffered view reservation at BWV will take more points than a reservation at either OKW or SSR.

Cash rooms are usually pool/garden view.

To expand- if you are fortunate enough to get the standard view room (I don't think your chances are good - even the first week of F&W is very popular) you'll most likely have to move for your cash nights to a pool garden view.

I agree -

sarcasticblonde - you may want to rethink the SV idea. It is very rare to hear of anyone getting a SV or a Boardwalk view room for cash.

If you call as soon as your 7 month window opens, you have a pretty good chance of getting a Pool/garden view, and if there is availability for cash through MS, it will undoubtedly be for a Pool/arden room.. JMHO. YMMV.
