Okay, so do to a big mess involving our trip this past October I ended up with 12 points in holding through my own silliness. So at the 60 day mark I put myself on the waiting list for BWV preferred as it was exactly 12 points more than our BWV standard. Wait list came through and now I'm wondering what our view will be of. This is my first stay at BWV and I have no idea what to expect.

This was our PV @ BWV

Lovely room, above Big River Grille:)

Most prefferred views will overlook the pools or canal to MGM. The above posted pictures would be great if you could land one of those rooms, I believe they call it a partial BW view.

That would be wonderful, but even a view of a canal would be nice. Being my birthday trip I want it to be special.

For many, the Boardwalk view is the best. We have not ever had that view, so I cannot tell you how great it will be. Nonetheless, BWV is very special in that you have direct access to Epcot... For us, this is the reason for staying there. We simply love walking to and from Epcot. It is sooo easy and it feels like you are a part of Epcot.

Unless they gave you boardwalk view (highly unlikely) which is represented by the pictures above, you will have a view of the main pool, the quiet pool, or the canal leading to MGM. They are are all fine.

No, I think that room is over Big River - or just down a bit - that's a full on Boardwalk view - you won't be getting that with a Preferred View - unless you get the highly unlikely sudden upgrade.

You are most likely to get Luna Park or the Community Pool - you might get a different view, but the majority of the Preferred Views overlook one pool or the other - another common view is of the croquet lawn.

I believe that the partial Boardwalk view rooms are the ones looking out onto the Village Green area. Those are considered preferred view even though looking sideways offers a Boardwalk view.

What does your confirmation say? It will either say Preferred-Boardwalk View or Preferred-Water & Garden View.

See the visual below to see where your rooms might be located in either view.

That is what I thought. They are the rooms overlooking the rear entrance common area and you have a sideways view of the BW. See the post above, the little red line would be the rooms I mentioned. Still a great view...the only views we have had thus far are Luna Park Pool and a regular BW view room. What ever you get it will be great and you'll love it.

Granny,

Great visual. I haven't seen that before. Nice job for a VWL Groupie.;)

HBC...thanks! :)

I do have that BWV contract too, you know! We really enjoy BWV, and usually stay in the "blue line" rooms. :thumbsup2

The question about BWV views comes up so often I thought I'd try my hand at creating a visual aid. I had a map but the aerial view really lays it out nicely.

Don't worry, I'm also a member of the "Bonkers for Boardwalk" fan club!!

Sorry for any confusion, I should of said it was a Boardwalk preferred view.

Granny, thank you so much. I was so confused on where we would be and what we would be looking at. It's a preferred view-water/garden. But those look to be a great location.

we've never had a bad location (standard/preferred/BW view) at BWV :thumbsup2

I have no problem booking the BWV and paying the extra points. IMHO the boardwalk views are the beast views in Disney.

There isn't a way to get a preferred view without getting the main pool area is there? I don't want a main pool view if the pool is closed:scared1: so I requested a BW view reservation but I really wouldnt mind other preferred areas as long as I am not overlooking a closed pool. Any other choices here? Thank you:)

There's also quiet pool plus Swan/Dolphin view (at the far end). If you have a studio reserved, there is also Village Green view (partial boardwalk).

You can't really "request" a boardwalk view, it's actually reserved when you book.

Here is a link to a diagram created by Granny that will give you a pretty good idea of preferred view rooms that arn't facing the main pool.

Granny , nice job on the map . ( Great idea )

I want to add that the rooms you have at the bottom of the photo at the end of standard view , marked in red , are not preferred but standard too. Heres a photo from 2135 ( my favorite room )
