And we were very pleased! We are DVC members and own at BWV, where we do most of our stays. We've never stayed in a moderate or value but have stayed at Beach club, Poly and GF; we used to do split stays on points at non DVC resorts before DVC added the $95 surcharge for using points outside the DVC resorts.
We decided to try SOG this time to avoid the high weekend points, so we spent 2 days at BWV and then 2 at SOG. Our luggage was transferred to SOG for us, we had EMH options(didn't use it, too tired!) had a very nice sized room with a small fridge, a balcony, and a good sized bathroom. We walked to the monorail at the Poly during the day and at night and found it an easy, well lit walk--just a little under half a mile, not much further than it is to use the International Walkway at BWV.
The busses come right on schedule, although not nearly as often as Disney resort busses. They do go to the TTC every 20 minutes during peak hours. They were never crowded but they're not as nice as Disney Resort busses--my husband said, "So this is where Disney busses go after they they die."
The only meal we ate there was breakfast buffet, which was ample and reasonable at 8.99--with no tax!
All in all, we were really glad we finally tried SOG; it was extremely peaceful compared to the Poly, which I honestly found quite unrelaxing the times we walked through to the monorail--the popularity of the restaurants upstairs makes the whole second level into a madhouse all the time.
SOG seemed quite uncrowded and is a great value for the price if you qualify. We're glad we gave it a try and we'll definitely go back.
