I've invited a friend for q short getaway & we're trying to decide either Boardwalk or Beach club - can someone tell me the differences? We're mid-40's - don't plan on doing parks (maybe 1). Just want some R&R.
Thanks
Given your description, I'd choose the Beach Club. It's my favorite resort! The pool is wonderful, and they have restaurants within the hotel, unlike the Boardwalk. If you select the Beach Club, be certain to verify the status of the pool. It's going down for refurbishing for an extended period between January and March.
You'll still be able to enjoy the activities of the boardwalk (evening entertainment, etc.) while having the luxury and serenity of the Beach Club. Anyway, that's my opinion!

Just FYI - According to the December issue of the "Member Clubhouse", only the large slide in SAB will be down for refurbishing. The rest of the pool will be open and available.
Stormalong Bay slide closure
Beginning January 3rd and continuing through April 4, 2003, the Shipwreck Slide located at Stormalong Bay at Disney's Yacht & Beach Club Resort will be closed for refurbishment. Members staying at Disney's Beach Club Villas, Disney's Yacht Club Resort, or Disney's Beach Club Resort, will still be able to use the pool areas at Stormalong Bay while the pool slide undergoes enhancement.
