How long is the walk from the BWV to MGM ? Is there any websites that show maps of the area ?

It depends on how fast of a walker you are ....

If you walk briskly, its about 10 minutes from the BWV pool area. A very slow walker might take 20 minutes. We make the trek in about 15 minutes, with kids in tow.

It's a leisurely 15 minute walk, and you almost always will get there before you would had you taken one of the Friendship boats.

It also may depend on where your room is in the resort. Last year we had a room by by the tennis courts and it cut a lot of time off the walk by cutting down a back stairway directly on to the path to MGM.

We timed ourselves, walking at a moderate pace, from the Luna Park pool area to the gate - it was 13 minutes.

Also note that there is not alot of shade on that walk so you might re-think the boat on a scorching afternoon. Other than that it is very pleasant--a bit longer than we expected the first time we walked it, but roughly 15 minutes as others have said. It's key as far as not having to wait for the boats after Fantasmic!

Agree on beating the boat after Fantasmic! We walked by as they were loading what appeared to be a very crowded boat after Fantasmic. We made it to Luna Park before the first boat they boarded caught up with us. I can't even imagine how long the people in the back of the line waiting for boats waited. Definitely worth the walk!

We have also driven to MGM from BWV and were able to get home quickly after Fantasmic as well. The trams that take people to the parking lot move very quickly, and the traffic doesn't seem to get backed up in the parking lot either. I personally would prefer the walk, but it's not practical with kids that are too big for a stroller but too young to have much stamina. They'd whine about walking but don't mind at all if we spend 2x the time riding trams around a parking lot....for some reason, that's fun!

As an avid runner and techie-gadget guy, when I'm at the BW I run the lake and out and back to MGM. I've clocked it with my GPS, so I can be geeky and precise.

From the corner of the bridge to Swan/Dolphin and the walking path to MGM (just behind Jellyrolls), it is 0.75 miles to the dock where the Friendship boats tie up and disgorge their passengers. The distance to the turnstiles of MGM must be almost the same.

It's 0.66 miles from the MGM ticket booth to the edge of the Luna Park pool.
