We just returned from our stay at BWV 2 bdrm 3019 ,3021 (S). The bulb was our in our shower, the drawer in our fridge wouldn't open, the toaster in the studio had no push down handle and our dryer sounded so loud because the belt, or something, was off (it made us laugh, it was so awful). I called maintenance, thinking that only a couple of things would be fixed during our stay. When we returned from the parks the day I called, everything had been fixed! Even the broken dryer! I called to thank them, as I was truly impressed.

Of course, I was a little disappointed that we checked into a room that had all those issues to begin with. Reading some negative threads on the DIS made me have my guard up, especially when I first went to the front desk and the lady told me to call maintenance. But when they fixed everything so quickly, I just thought that was pretty magical.

During our stay, my dd16 called to report that the studio bathroom bulb had gone out and they fixed it within the hour.

Wow that is great to hear.....seems like they are trying hard to keep on top of repairs:thumbsup2

we stayed 3/23 - 3/28 and had the most wonderful weather. Having APs and staying at the BWV, I was able to walk to Epcot anytime I wanted. When our room wasn't ready at 3 p.m., I walked into E to get a coffee near Canada and sat with it at Electric Umbrella to watch the dancing water fountain (that I love) while my family swam at the pool.

Another day, when we had been at the MK, we left our van there (we had a great spot and returned later in the evening) and took the monorail to E and walked through to BWV.

Another day, we were going to go to a waterpark but it was too chilly, so we slept really late, walked to MGM (crowds pouring in at noonish) to get a fp for RnRC, we drew in the Animation class, and did another attraction and then walked to E to get lunch, did Spaceship Earth - the 30 minute wait went quickly and we LOVED the changes in this attraction!, went to the pool and then walked to MGM to use fp's. It was a "waste" of a day, but with APs it didn't matter. And staying at the BWV, it was possible.

We walked to MGM several times, also.

I don't think I would feel like walking in weather above 80 degrees, and that's why we are staying in OKW this summer.

Sorry to hear you had problems in your room, but glad they fixed it so quickly. I also love BWV for the same reason you noted....walking to Epcot, close the MGM. We are also AP holder and we do the "wasted" day where we go into Epcot just for a ride, or walk around the worlds. It is great that we don't need to use the car for two parks and if we want, walk to Epcot and take the monorail to MK. Have a great time when you go this summer.:cool1:

I am so glad they came promptly to fix the issues you reported, but I'm even MORE glad that you reported them! I think sometimes people have problems like these, don't report them and then the condition(s) just get exacerbated from guest to guest.
Thank you for taking the time to call to get them fixed!

I do have to say I think the BWV is due for some rehab work, but when I had some issues in February ie. light bulbs, coffee pot, linens for the pull out, they did respond within the hour of being notified.

I have to agree about people not reporting the issues because, obviously, the guests before us had the same ones. I'm sure some people don't want to report them during their stay because of the possible inconvenience of being in the room when maintenance arrives (or the fear of having them in the room when you are not). But it would be good if people told Maintenance, not the front desk, when they are checking out.

I checked in on December 30th for a New Year's week vacation. As you can imagine, that was a very busy time.

When I got to my one bedroom unit, the refridgerator was warm, not cold.

I called maintenance.

In twenty minutes, they had someone in the room. Another 30 minutes later and we had a new refridgerator. I was impressed!

That is most impressive!! And probably the quickest response times I have ever heard of. That is comforting to know. Thanks OP and mjy!!

I think the washer/dryer unit had to have been replaced for us, like your refrigerator. I would find it very difficult to believe that maintenance could have fixed the dryer problem in the time we were out of the room. When you pushed start, it would gather speed slowly (as if someone was hand cranking it to speed) and NOISILY. When you stopped it, it came to a NOISY slow down with lots of thumps and bumps. It truly made us laugh - like an I Love Lucy problem. And during the drying cycle it was so noisy that I'm sure it disturbed neighbors.

DH thinks they just replaced the entire unit.

I stayed at BWV in early March. We checked out early Friday morning and Monday I called to report that I had left several telephone chargers and a phone in a drawer in the room. I got transferred to housekeeping lost and found and I left a message with them. A few hours later I got a call back and was told they had all of the items. They could mail them regular post at their cost or Fedex them at my expense. Well I received them in the mail a few days later!!! :thanks: Of course I was very pleased!!

I have always had great satisfaction when contacting maintenance at BWV.
They have always responded promptly and have been genuinely nice people.
I have had repairs to a fridge, gotten a new dishwasher, had a possessed hair dryer and broken door locks.

Rather than make a list of repairs to report on the way out, I try to get any problems that I have taken care of while we are out in the parks, usually on the second day of our stay. It works out very well, and saves the next guest a little trouble...

Actually, I have always been lucky with housekeeping as well. I have never had a bad experience with the cleanliness of my room. You would think from the complaints we have read here, that statistically, I should have run into a problem by now. Nope.

Now the long hallways.... I always seem to be as far as one can get from the elevator. But there is usually a stairway nearby, so I can live with that.

I agree that many of the rooms could do with some fresh paint and maybe a change of upholstery. They have been worked hard for over 10 years. But all in all, it is always BWV for me.

We've NEVER had an issue in a villa. I guess we've been lucky. The main thing I'd like to see taken care of is the carpet in the hallways. I LOVE that carpet - it's a show in itself - the little footprints in the sand get me every time, but it's beginning to show its age. Since it goes with the wall treatment, I'd be happiest if they replaced it with the same carpet. Dull, standard hotel hallway carpet just wouldn't do it.
