There's a big warning on the DVC Member site and the WDW site about limited parking at BWV and that guests driving may be asked to use valet parking. Anyone there now with any insight? I talked with MS the other day and she said there was nothing noted for our stay in early Sept, but still nervous. Don't want to fork over $20 a day unnecessarily!!

Consensus when it's been discussed is that it's directed towards those planning to visit the resort, not those staying there.

This has been on the site for a few months now and I've not read anything from return guests having a problem. We arrive at bwv this Saturday.

I was at Disney World last week. Did not stay at BWV but did visit it, parking at overflow lot was not restricted, though it did have construction trailers in the far corners. I did not try to park in the regular lot, since I was not a guest there and it was a nice day.

Rest assured, we stayed last month for a week(6/19-6/26) and there was plenty of parking with no restrictions for resort guests..

This is mainly aimed at those who drive over to BW/BWV, park, and then walk to the back entrance of EPCOT.

Perfect! Thanks everyone. I guess that makes sense based on how the verbiage is written. 43 more days :)

Just returned and yes there is an issue with parking. This is for folks like us who enjoy the smaller guest lot near the tennis courts/canal area. We were there and parking in that area is impossible.they have 3/4 of that lot closed off for construction equipment. They did not have the poles up to prevent non-guest parking either. I'm dreading my September and October visit here. We stay standard and that lot is our parking lot of choice. We tried to park there and had to park in the lot at the other end where dining guest park. We rarely park in the large lot, but that one appears to be available. So for folks like us who like the smaller lot, and may be going during F&W like us, you've been warned. I just hope the guards do a better job at keeping day guest out. Btw, we ate at the bcv twice and both times they verified our dining reservations before getting in to park. We were allowed to parking in general parking after checking to see we had reservations.

This an excellent thread. We are scheduled to stay there the week of Thanksgiving, and I have been a little worried after seeing some of the parking posts. That week will be very busy overall. I hope we don't have issues with it when we are staying there.

Anyone have any idea when they will pave those parking lots?? Others on the boards have been told the work will be finished by the end of the summer - from what recent guests have stated, it seems as if they haven't even started the project!

We were at the bcv this weekend and there was a sign saying paving would begin this week. This is the lot where the villas are. Not sure about the bus area side

Hello all....just returned Monday. The side lot near the standard views/tennis courts is full of construction/containers STUFF! Parking is an issue. We are coming back in 7 weeks. Hmmmmm Have not received any notice but I may take preemptive action. Food & Wine will be an extreme challenge. We are not Valet people. We pay for upkeep, why do we have to pay to park? I will sort through my pics, I took pictures of the parking lot it was so alarming.

Yea I posted the same thing a few posts above yours. Didn't really get any comments though. I was not happy with the situation. There was no parking there for us after coming back from the store so we pulled up to the arm and unloaded the groceries, then loaded up the grandkids while husband searched for a parking spot. Not happy that the poles were not put in place. We noticed the reserved spots too, not sure what that was for. We will be back at bwv sept 19-23, then again October 23-nov 7. I'm sure parking will be a headache. I'm sure my husband will find his way to the front desk a few times esp if the guards don't enforce the parking rules.

Oh, dear, this does not sound good - and I just reserved a rental car for our late Oct trip (we'll be staying at the Boardwalk Inn)!!! Do you think they are doing more than just paving those lots??? Sounds like there was a lot of equipment. Wonder if there's any chance they are actually expanding the existing lot?

Is there anyone at Disney that could be contacted to get further info? I posted a thread about this issue on the resort board when we made our reservations back in May and folks who were going to BI/BWV in May and June said they were told this parking lot work would be done by the end of the summer. But we are already into August and it hasn't even started!

The above description of construction equipment near the canal/tennis courts would be a much bigger problem for guests on the BWV side of the resort, than your BWI-side. (Of course that means more BWV guests in the main BWI lot...)

We always park in the large, main lot during busy times and there always seems to be lots of spaces.....maybe not the closest and most convenient spaces, but that lot is our preference...just don't like the one by the tennis courts. If you are a BW resort guest, I am quite sure you will not be forced to pay for valet parking. That would be ludicrous. Resort guests are supposed to have parking included.

Was there plenty of parking in the larger lot? A lot of those spots are as close, if not closer, than the ones by the tennis courts (depending on where your room is). We will be there in the fall...am hoping a lot of the construction will be over with!!
