We are planning on staying at BWV in Jan of 2010, DW, DS and myself in 1Br. I have never stayed there before. So, is there anything I should request; specific rooms or locations? Any really cool suggestions to do at BWV? And, even thought I have heard the pool is great, how is it really? Thanks ahead of time!!! TK

3 location

preferred - BW - this is a guarantee - so you know if you have it
standard - this is also guarantee

everything else
preferred - pool/garden - most of the rooms

did not like the main pool view - that silly clown gets you after a while.

with preferred -bw - you are on or above the broadwalk - great views of YC/BC

standard - parking lot, drive way to BW, tennis court - it has a nice garden/lawn. (less points are needed) Some people say they can see Epcot fireworks.

preferred - pool/garden - this is the most of the resort - includes both pools and the lagoon going to Studios. Also includes the courtyard of BW - so also a BW view just not quite.

As a generalization - high floor far from the elevators provide better views. Low floors close to the elevators provide easier access to the pool, etc. There is one set of elevators - so if you are constrained by a stroller or ECV being close to the elevators is very nice.

I like the pool, nice slide - easy to sit in a chair and see the vast majority of the pool. Its deep for little kids.

At night they run entertainment on the Boardwalk - don't come back every evening dog tired or you'll miss it (jugglers, magicians, that sort of thing).

If you embibe, the Bellevue room is a terribly pleasant spot.

How are the rooms? Are they bigger or smaller than other DVC ones? I know i have that info somewhere, but I just cant find it.

Hi: OKW has the largest rooms. Depending on which site you view, it seems in general that BWV has the second largest sq.footage after that. Most of the other 1 br units are fairly close size wise, and I think a lot of the perceptions of either cramped or roomy can be attributed to the furniture and layout. You can check out size and layout on the member site.

To me Boardwalk View is absolutely the best. I love sitting on balcony and watching the action. You can also see two different fireworks. The kitchen seems smaller then some of the other resorts.

bwv dedicated studio 412 sq ft
bwv lock out studio - 359 sq ft
bwv 1-bedroom - 814

just put studio and 1-bedroom together - there are NO dedicated 2-bedrooms at BWV

BWV was the first DVC where they went with more rectangle than the square style of OKW.

We love BWV...so glad it's our home resort. We love being able to walk to DS and Epcot. We almost never take the boats unless we are really tired at the end of the day. As for best rooms, I love the BW view, but I'm not so sure it's worth the extra points. We had it the last time, and I think we went out there maybe once or twice the whole week. We really liked eating breakfast at Spoodles, but I hear that's closing. I also really like the Brewing restaurant. They have great hummus and a pecan crusted chicken that we all like. We have recently tried eating the evening buffet at the Beach Club and have found that to be pretty good. My husband loves the clams, etc. Of course Beaches and Cream is an easy place to get to, and it's always fun.

I think the dedicated and lockoff are the same size at BWV.
359 sounds right.
