Does anyone know the current price per point when buying direct?

I'm sure someone will post the current numbers for all the resorts. If I were to guess, I'd say around $115pp.

However, they just raised raised (effective Dec 19) the base price of AKV and Aulani from $135 to $140 but have seen nothing to show any other prices were increased although that remains a possibility.

I know you asked about direct purchase, but you can get some great deals on BWV through resale. We paid $60 per point for ours.

Thanks everyone. I checked the site and it says $115 with a minimum of 160 PTS required. That comes to 18,400. Thanks for the tip mouse mom and I would rather go the resale route but I am not going to if they announce more resale restrictions soon. I like BWV but would love flexibility to move around to other DVC resorts and if they restrict to only using home resorts that would be a deal breaker.

I really wouldn't worry about it until you hear something directly from DVC. Also, as long as you get your resale approved before any potential deadline you should be grandfathered in to the current rules. That is the way it was with the last resale restrictions anyway.

Oh yea I am definitely waiting for any type of announcement first. I just have a feeling that DVC will put in more restrictions soon like before the summer. Just a hunch. I know I won't be purchasing before then.

On a good note it seems like I would be able to only purchase 100 PTS buying direct from disney. I would like that.

We've bought direct, 105pts each time, once at BWV. It's a matter of availability and your rep but it can be done. Direct is not for everyone so make sure it's what you really want. We thought long and hard and have our reasons for going direct. I will say the chances of a 100 point BWV contract on the resale market are harder, the smaller ones will go very very fast if and when available, more likely to find then in the 160-200 range. Which means more dues. Not saying one is better than the other, different ways are best for each. I also think the chances of Disney exercising ROFR are higher on the smaller contracts but that's just a personal opinion and shouldn't be a reason for deciding one way or another. I do agree, any purchase now would be grandfathered in at the current resale purchase restriction and not subject to additional ones without some major restructuring on DVC's side.

Say for example, GFV not being part of the current DVC collection but somehow a new tier 2 DVC collection. While my most recent docs didn't seem to have this language, my first direct contract clearly stated that there was no guarantee that there would be DVC villas at the GF that would be part of the collection/club. This was prior to them officially being announced. Which seems to set the stage for them to have options. I do think whatever/however they announce and release the GF will be a big indicator of what is to come, or not, for the next year or 2.
