Hi~

Has anyone stayed at the Boardwalk Villas in the boardwalk view rooms? My DH wants to try to stay there on our next trip. Can you tell me about the noise level? Any other tips/information? We have never stayed there.

Thanks

We have never had an issue with noise in the BV rooms. Once the door is closed you'll never know that all that activity is right outside!

Agreeing with CraftyMouse -- once the balcony doors are closed we've had no troubles with noise from the Boardwalk.

Thank you so much...DH will be happy to hear that.

If there are really noisy party people on the BW at night, closing the drapes should take care of any vestiges of noise.

The only time I had a problem was when I stayed in a room on the second floor right above Big River. It was June and people were out on the boardwalk talking very late (well past midnight).

Have not had any noise problems. Book the BW views at the 11 month all the time. They are the best views in Disney IMHO.

I love the BWV boardwalk view rooms. I can sit on the balcony all night just enjoying the view.

OK I shouldn't be jealous--we did get a preferred view for F & W. The waitlist (on it since 7 month window) just couldn't get us the BW view...sigh. But we will certainly enjoy our 4 days at F & W.

The Boardwalk view is the best around.....in our opinion as well. We did have one trip with one noisey night. The room was on the top floor near Jelly Rolls and a couple came out when they closed yelling at each other. It lasted for about 15 minutes and went away. Other than that the noise level was basically non existant. In a few more weeks we will be in a BW view room for the F&W......look forward to it. This will be our first trip back since our littlest one was born. Hope Mickey doesn't scare him......

BWV owners here, but we're having our first Boardwalk View stay next month! The Standard point costs have always won out for us, or I also found myself changing the reservation over to BCV for SAB for the same amount of points when I've booked Boardwalk View in the past. Well, now we own BCV as well, and so, we're going to see what the excitement is all about! Once I had a Village Green area view (preferred) and could see BC from our balcony, that view was wonderful, so I can't wait to see what the real Boardwalk View is like! Only a month away!

We had a very nice BW view but one night a large party came out of JR made a lot of noise and early the next morning for whatever reason a couple of the boats blew horns. But over 10 years we are talking one noisy night.

We love the view from the boardwalk view rooms. As others have said, when the sliding door is closed you won't hear much of the noise from the boardwalk. We were right across from the game area one time and could hear the bell ringing after each game even through the closed door but it was pretty faint and they close down at 11pm. There was a lot of noise at 2am one night when the JellyRolls crowd decided to hang out on the boardwalk talking/yelling at one another for about 10 minutes. We were on the second floor that trip and they were right below our balcony. It was annoying but fortunately it only happened one night. It wouldn't stop me from booking a boardwalk view again in the future. The view is worth it!

I book 11 months out each year to get my beloved Boardwalk view studio. The view is amazing and just makes me happy. I am "cheap" by nature and thought maybe I would switch the standard views - but I just can't!

While I would not call it "loud", I will admit that last trip, I was woken up every night by loud drunk people leaving Jellyrolls at 2am. It only lasted a few minutes as they stumbled down the boardwalk. I am a fairly light sleeper - so that was probably the issue. My husband and daughter never woke up. Our room was WAY down the hall about 3 doors from the end on the 5th floor...

But - I booked Boardwalk view again for my January trip - so it did not deter me at all! :)

Anyone know the room numbers for over the Big River Grille?

Either of these 2 directly above it with the block walled balconies rather than the spindle style:

We had those rooms this year - and they were loud - with the balcony doors closed, the group still drinking at midnight could be distinctly heard (I hope she dumps her boyfriend, he sounds like a jerk).

We also had the rooms right above the screen door - and that was loud whenever the street performers were out there - as well as when the Illuminations crowd came back - you could hear the games in the evening and the boats. But most of that ends relatively early.

I prefer standard view rooms - we only book Boardwalk when we have guests we want to impress with the view.

we were in room 4001 this past week and at times it was loud, even with doors closed.

It sounds like OP owns elsewhere and wants to get boardwalk view at 7 months out. Just be aware that can be difficult to get at 7 months out because owners tend to cannibalize the rooms with a view at 11 months.

Boardwalk view is the best there currently is at any open WDW DVC resort although AKV savanna view has its own unique quallity and I place it close to the boardwalk view. We own at both and always get boardwalk view at BWV and savanna at AKV.

Always book bwv view as well, unless I want to save a few pt.s. Then will book standard. Agree with drusba, nothing like the view at bw view!:thumbsup2
