BWV boardwalk view @ 7 months for early May? Requests?

DH and I have a 2-night post cruise stay booked May 14 & 15 at our home resort (VWL) that we would be perfectly happy keeping. However, I'd like to experiment a little, so I'll be calling on Tuesday morning (the 7 month date) to see what is available.

My first choice will be an AKL concierge level 1 BR, but I am not foolish enough to think that will likely come through.

The only other thing that would interest us would be a BWV Boardwalk view 1 BR. Actually, as Epcot is my favorite and I think Epcot and HS would be the two parks we'd likely visit this trip, this would probably be ideal. I've never asked for or thought about BWV before, so, if that boardwalk view is available, what kind of request should I make? We don't mind walking (I understand the "long hallway" complaints) if it would get us a better view of Illuminations and the Boardwalk. Thoughts?

Higher floors give better views of both Illuminations and Wishes fireworks. We are currently in a 1 bedroom -5041 - and have a fantastic view of both. Because there are a very limited number of BWV rooms and only a few of those will be open each day for check-in, you would best not get too hopeful on which one you get. I think the only reason we got our "higher floor" request this time is because I checked in at 6:30 AM (we were moving here from SSR). Good luck!

When you call and assuming neither of these is available, request both and see what happens. Your chances of either are very low but given you're going anyway, you have a chance of getting one late when people start canceling.

Well, as predicted, AKL CL wasn't available. I did however snag a BWV Boardwalk view 1 BR for those two nights and I'm pretty psyched about that (we've never stayed there). The only request I made was for an upper level if possible.
