BWV Addon...I Got the Call Today...

My guide called today to let me know that there were 100 BWV points available if I wanted them...What a dumb question! The paperwork is in the mail.

I was just about to ask the same question...what use year did you get?

I know beggers can't be choosers, but when requesting an add-on at BWV, can you request a specific use year?

All add ons are usually your use year...... I believe you can't change use years unless you buy a new contract of at least 150 points. Tho I could be wrong.....

I've already added on twice at BWV through the waitlist.. Both times it took 2 months

Just wanted to say that some use years have had better luck than others in regards to availability through Disney... particularly August & December seem to have gotten the most points back....

We've been on the waitlist for 14 months with a September use year... we just got a message on our machine from our guide today though.... I think we might have our BWV add-on!!

For anyone wondering, call your guide at Disney and ask to be placed on the waitlist for BWV points... We were first on the wait list ever since the lottery they had many months ago....

Use year is February...Yes, the addon was through Disney.

Your BWV addon came thru Disney, right? Not a resale? How does that happen?

One theoretical example of how this can happen...

When a member sells his contract, Disney has the right of first refusal at the agreed-upon price. So if someone is going to sell at a really low price, Disney can step in and buy the contract back at the low price and then turn around and sell the points as an add-on at a much higher price.

You have to feel a little sorry for the poor guy who THOUGHT he was going to get a low price on a resale only to have Disney buy the contract out from under his feet.

Again, this is theoretical. I am not sure Disney has actually ever done this even though they have the right to do it.

Has anybody ever had this happen? Or heard of this happening?

Congratulations!! My husband and I have been on the waitlist for more points at the BWV for about 2 months now. We are really hoping to get "the call" sometime.
Our use year is March; has anyone ever received a call about points available at the BWV for a March use year? Just curious, as I have read that some use years come up more frequently than others.

What I can't believe is: Why would you buy from DISNEY at what - $85/point when you could buy from RESALE for much cheaper? And there's tons of BW for sale as is OKW etc., .... just a thought.

Magical Princess, it was 75.00 per point & I purchased 50 points... 50 point BWV add ons don't come around too often & when they do, they get around 70.00 per point... plus closing costs... The small add ons don't go for cheap & usually they have no points available... I've seen 3 in all this time..... only one was a 50 pointer the other two were hundred pointers.... I really did not want 100 more BW points....

That is exactly what our experience has been. I first tried to find a small resale and it just doesn't happen very often. And Chris is right, they do go for premium price plus closing costs. We'll take anywhere from 50-100 points and it's tough to find those contracts.
