BWI with free dining or YC without?

Do you think your kids eat like adults? do you think you'll have a lot of buffets planned? It is a lot of math but how is the BWI rate with FD compared to your YC rate with th 40% discount? Will you spend the difference in meals?

I agree with the above. I would vote for the YC and pay for dining oop. Yes, you will need to pay adult prices for 2 of your kids at buffet type places. But what about regular sit down? Would they order off the child menu or the adult? I know that my 11 yr old still orders off the child menu. What I have done in the past to avoid the "sticker shock" of paying for meals is to bring Disney gift cards ($1000 worth or whatever). We charge everything to the room and then I use the gift card to pay the bill. That way it is "prepaid" and I don't leave with a huge charge on my visa. Have a great trip!

What about a split stay? Might be a pain with 6 of you, but you could do one week at each. Do all your big buffets, etc. the first part with a FD ressie, then when you are sick of food (LOL), you can chill at the YC on your room only discount. Plus, you will probably have extra CS and snack credits on your last FD day that you can use up for stuff in your fridge at the YC.

Sounds like you really wanted to stay at the YC, and got a great rate. I'd stick with that, and then you can enjoy the pool there! I'd also pay for dining out of pocket. The plan is more for convenience than saving money, and you can order from Garden Grocer if you want for drinks & easy breakfast and snack items in the room, taking advantage of the nice little fridge. Split stays are a love them or hate them thing - to me with kids it's a pain to pack up, but some folks love them.

I second the split stay idea. You get the best of both worlds and you may even save money!
