Pretend the pools are identical, then tell me which resort is better!

I like BWV better, because of the food area and shops on the boardwalk, and it doesn't seem as stuffy. Also, it's easier to walk to MGM and Epcot, which we do every morning for exercise. There are also many more DVCers there, which the hotel seems more adept at handling. At BWV I have seen people check in with all their belongings in a laundry basket, and several people with Walmart plastic bags;) instead of suitcases, and they act like they are used to that. At BCV they don't seem to handle that as well, either, they treat them more like the poor relatives that the family is ashamed of. Just my feeling, though, since both places are lovely.

I prefer the Boardwalk because I like the activity on the boardwalk in the evening. :)

I STILL like BW better. I like the fact that there is lots to do at all times of the day and night. I like the decor better ... it is really feels like the Boardwalk in NJ when I was a kid (minus the rides). Given a choice between the two, I would pick the BW. When I have stayed at the YC, I always migrate over there.

My only caveat would be if I were comparing concierge. I stayed at the YC and it was very nice. I have gotten very little info about the BW concierge recently. Reviews that are a little dated are not so great.

I would take BWI over BC/YC due to the sometimes disappointing views that some/many(?) rooms have at BC/YC. BWI is also where the action is. Having said that with our small kids we are going to have BCV as our base insteald of BWV as we do not want too too much action ;)

thanks

Don't care for the BWI...seems too stuffy and not as kid friendly, but I don't know if that's what you are looking for. I feel that way about the YC, but not the BC. BC is a bit more casual. I personally don't mind a little bit of a walk to "where the action is" as some people describe the Boardwalk. BC is also closer to Epcot, which is a plus for me, but I understand BWI is slightly more centered between Epcot and MGM.

We love having a balcony, and I'm afraid to stay at the Beach Club because so many of the rooms do not have a full balcony with chairs. I know that's silly, but with little ones who nap, the adults need an escape! :)

BWI. We used to stay at Beach and Yact Club before we bought into Disney Vacation Club. So last Feb. we tried Boardwalk Villa. W like it so much better for its location and ambience.

However, if SAB is taken into consideration, we would like to stay by BC/YC when weather is warm.

If you don't consider the pool, the location is the same.

The distance from the BW is no shorter or longer than it is from the YC/BC, to Epcot or to MGM. Exactly the same.

It comes down to decor mostly. We love the YC because of it's nautical decor. We have never felt that it was stuffy or pretentious or have we been treated like that. There might be a higher noise level at the BW at night, (from the boardwalk activity and clubs) so consider that if you prefer it quiet.

So my vote goes with the YC! I must not be alone, because the YC rooms go faster than the BC or the BW, or so several CMs told me.

I agree with the fact that it basically comes down to preference in the decor and ambiance of the resort and you will pretty much have to decide that on your own.

Our family definately prefers Beach Club.

Our family prefers the BC. The atmosphere seems more relaxed and we love the beach theme. I like the way the resort is laid out too with the restaurants inside so you don't have to go outside to get something to eat. I always feel like the BW restaurants and shops are part of the boardwalk and aren't really part of the resort, if that makes sense. Everyone has their favorites and you won't know what is yours until you try them! Good luck with your decision.

Can't make a totally fair statement since we haven't stayed at BC/YC. We have only been over there for Cape May and Sandcastle Club. We really fell in love with the BWI! We found it to be very welcoming to our children, the housekeeper was so sweet with the kid's stuffed animals, the lifeguards were super friendly (remembering their names each day!) and one CM gave our kids a Disney beanie baby in the lobby! As far as food for little ones, we could get pizza and hot dogs on the BW, lots of kid stuff at the BWBakery (like yogart, juice boxes, bagels) and at Luna Pool bar we could get kid meals.

All thing equal we prefer BW. It just seems more relaxed to us.

We do like BC, and did the villas last trip. But would still like BW better.

Cruelladeville - we noticed the same thing about food, etc.. until this last trip. Maybe beacuse of the villas now but there were lots of us with coolers, and grocery bags this time.

Because the pool at BC/YC is better there seems to be less kids in BWI. BC is (slightly) closer to EPCOT and I think BWV are sligthly closer to MGM.

My mom just returned from a wonderful stay at BWI! I was anxious to hear about YC/BC, so I asked if she walked over there. She said, "It's nice, but there is nothing to do over there." She wasn't even impressed by SB! In her opinion, the BWI was the place to be ! She took tons of pictures of BWI and it is gorgeous! She had a standard room booked and her room overlooked a a nice courtyard, near the pool. They really enjoyed Spoodles, all the action on the BW and taking the boats to MGM and Epcot. She did comment that there were LOTS of kids at the BWI. I kept needling her about the BC, but she wasn't interested. She has no interest in YC or BC! Go figure!
