How do you go about it? And any suggestions of a room number?

I am wondering if lots of us do this?

We are headng down the end of next week & I would love to get a room not too far from the lobby. We booked a standard view, just wondering if anyone has suggestions.

I wouldn't request a specific room number. Chances are that another guest will occupy that room number, and then you could be put wherever they have space. If you want a room near the lobby, then that should be your first request. I was in a standard room on the fourth or fifth floor with a lovely view of the garden suites and the quiet pool that featured a view of Illuminations, but I was a good four to five minute walk from the elevators.

We stayed there last June and booked a standard room. I faxed a very non-demanding request (upper floor with balcony, near elevator, etc..) and we got room 4285. I'm not sure if it was an upgrade, but it was an awesome room. It overlooked the coutyard/porch that fronted the boardwalk/lake, it was the first room off the elevator(very quite), smaller balcony, but perfect spot. Good Luck!

I'd be careful with the "close to elevator" request. Last time we booked a standard view and I requested "non-smoking, upper floor, Epcot view". When we checked in I was told this was not available but we would be upgraded to a partial BW view room instead. We were in the corner of the rosegarden courtyard, right over the Bellvue Lounge, nice room but at night the "whooshing" of the elevator really bugged me. My DH and kids fell asleep very easily so it really only disturbed me. Also there was increased noise from people coming in late (like after midnight) on the elevators and walking by our room. But we still had a great time there and it wouldn't effect my going back one bit.

Hi,

Don't want to hijack the thread, just have a similarly related question. We'll be staying at the BWV...I'm assuming there are different requests for those than the ones you suggested for the BWI? If so, any suggestions? Is that main "horseshoe" just exiting the lobby walking out to the BW considered the Inn or the Villas? I thought that might be a good spot. We had requested a BW view room. Any help would be appreciated, thanks! :earsgirl:

If you walk out of the lobby, facing the lake, the area on the right would be the Inn, the area on the left would be the Villas.

If you are staying at the Villas, boardwalk views are reserved for members staying on points. They are actually reserved, not a request. If you are renting points from a member, your reservation should indicate the view reserved (standard, preferred garden/pool, preferred boardwalk). CRO reservations are not booked by view, you could end up anywhere (except boardwalk view).

DebbieB, we did rent from a DVC memeber, and reserved a Boardwalk View. So this means, based on your info, that we would be in the area on the left. Am I right that stretches all the way down to JellyRolls? So, basically, Boardwalk view can be anywhere along there, correct? I'm wondering if there is a way that we can ask for our Boardwalk view room to be close to the lobby. (Sorry for all of the questions!)

Yes, that is correct. You can request close to the lobby. Our boardwalk view 1 bedroom last year actually partially faced the grass and was close to the lobby. I had requested top floor, which we got.
