BWI or Dolphin, if same price

I've stayed at the Dolphin and BWI. The only reason I stayed at the Dolphin was because of a very CHEAP rate. It is not worth over $200. BWI is wonderful. I don't understand how folks can say it lacks food options. Spoodles take out window was a shorter walk for me than "Tubbis" or whatever they call it now was from my room at the Dolphin. Yes, you have to go outside, but, unless the weather is horrible, I don't see the problem with that.

The Edge~Sometimes...I just don't want to brave the HEAT...or MOSQUITOES...or CROWDS! I just want to stroll through the A/C halls...unencumbered and pest-free, to my TUBBI'S for some chow! Just goes to show, DIFFERENT STROKES for DIFFERENT FOLKS! Some folks would say the same thing about the BW...(*only reason they stayed was a CHEAP rate!!) LOL. :teeth:

To each...his/her OWN!

Heat, mosquitoes and crowds..........pretty much sums up all of my WDW vacations!:teeth: LOL. I see your point though. Never considered it because those things just seem to blend in with the whole vacation experience.

I'd try S/D again if I received the low rate I did last year, but if the price was the same as BWI, I'd have to go there. The new pictures of the Dolphin do look interesting so I think we'll check the place out again during our next trip. Thanks for posting them. :D Do you have a thread or a website with more photos?

Last time I checked the Spoodles window was not opened 24hrs. Also, we have had the pizza that is served from that window and maybe we are spolied with pizza from Boston but the pizza down here does not compare.

You cannot compare the products avaiable at Tubbis to the pizza take out window at Spoodles.

Actually, I had a KILLER meatball sub from Spoodles takeout. They didn't have that at Tubbis. Mostly I saw burgers, hot dogs and grilled cheese. I can get that on the Boardwalk or anywhere in the parks. The window was open until midnight. I really don't need food after that.

I believe the intent of the OP was solicit personal opinions. There is no right or wrong or best answer. Preferences / choices make the "World" (Disney, that is) go 'round - :D

So true. Why do some people have to "prove" their point on these threads? State your opinion and move on. No need to come back every day with new proof to show your opinion is the right one.

No one is returning to try and PROVE anything here... ~We are merely enjoying the lively exchange of opinions and creative banter which IS the DIS! :teeth:

The Edge~LOL...TRUE~! You are SO correct, and I had to laugh after reading your reply ("Heat, mosquitoes and crowds..........pretty much sums up all of my WDW vacations!"), and say DITTO. :teeth: Now...I have to TRY the Meatball sub at the takeout window of Spoodles, as I had NO IDEA you could order such fare until midnight! I'll have to stop by on a late-eve walk back from Epcot and give it a go! Thank you for your informative post.

For more pics: take a look at the www.swandolphin.com site. It's a great way to keep updated on all the things being currently offered at the resorts. ;)

Did not know about the meatball sub. Might have to give that a try.

Not trying to "prove" anything as you cannot "prove" an opinion. This is just a good back and forth of services provided buy the two different resorts and different peoples opinions of those services provided.

A good example is that there are some who do not mind going onto the Boardwalk for their food choices and we did not think it would bother us when we booked the BWI back in 1999. After staying there for ten days we determined that it did bother us.

So this is our opinion but it is information that someone who is considering booking the BWI should be aware of.

Oh well. To each their own.
