DVC Chit Chat Thread

I work all spring/summer/fall, think 6 or 7 (😂) days a week. But I am mostly off in the winter. Therefore, my next trip is in January 2027 in a 2BR at Kidani with whichever family members want to come (first 7 to rsvp get in), then I booked a couple nights in a 1BR at BCV for my husband and I so we can destress from the family😉
Note*if I were doing it right, I would then book a couple SOLO nights to destress from my husband😂😂😂
Very similar to how we take our trips: a week with family, then a week for us.

I was early for a flight out of LAX back many years ago---back when I still had a Facebook account. One of my former students posted a shot from Randy's Donuts and I commented: "Man, I wish I had stopped there before my flight!"

Turns out he and his crew were also on their way to the airport, and were going to get there before I had to leave. So, they hand-delivered a couple of tasty pastries to me at my gate.

(Yes, I know that there is one in one of the LAX terminals, but it is not the same as the Inglewood original.)
I grew up in SoCal but relocated to the East coast after college. My husband use to travel to Asia a lot. He worked it so he had a stop over at LAX, he would grab a cab and head to Hermosa Beach to my favorite Mexican restaurant and get me 4 of my favorite burritos and put them in a soft sided cooler he brought with him.
He really is a great guy. And I miss those burritos!

I currently have 2 studios booked at boardwalk for 12 nights in October. This is for 4 adults and 2 teen siblings. The kids are used to sharing a hotel room with their parents but I’m still wondering if it’s going to be a struggle for the length of trip.

I’m xxxx points short for a Saratoga 2 bed so would need to find someone able to a transfer if we changed.

I’m really just seeking opinion from the more experienced DVCers, is the studio going to be a struggle for that length of stay? We could also have one of the nieces in with us.

Mod edited.

To add, we obviously would prefer to stay at BWV so it’s a kind of a is it worth the hassle to stay there or would it be more enjoyable moving to a 2 bed if I could find the points somehow?

I'm sure this is different for everyone but for me, I would not give up BWV for Saratoga. I am going down for 11 nights and for 6 of those nights there will be 4 adults in the room. We aren't in the room a whole lot and it will be the first time at BWV for everyone except me so even if we aren't in a park, we will be exploring the resort, the boardwalk or at the pool. I am fine with sharing for a bit especially since we are coming from different states so I only see them once or twice a year so like to spend all the time with them that I can.

If anyone is willing to share....when is your next DVC stay and where? (You can be vague on dates or location for privacy reasons if you want.)
I'll play, we squeeze our points, always Studios

The Treasure end of April, followed by 4 days WLV

annual 4th of july trip with GD. started taking her on this trip solo when 3, will be old enough this summer for DL. how did that happen? lol

Sept, BWV; after a week onsite @ whatever U onsite resort has best APH rate Not looking good right now

Dec, 3 nights WLV, then AKVJ & RCCL Utopia
Today I am grateful to not be spending 12.5% on taxes for my DVC point stays, as opposed to a normal hotel stay.
absolutely!
LGB and SNA…. great airports.
last few trips to DL, it's been SWA & SNA only for us. we ride share to the resort area

I've been told we really should try LGB, as SWA sale rates usually much less.

not sure if worth it as the connecting flights have longer layovers & no idea of best option to get to the parks from there
Just added a December stay at AKV-Jambo for 3 nights….in a value! 🤯
wow! good for you. Did u snag it online or did WL come thru? Haven't been able to grab one in years there at 12 month window

May - AKV for us
July - Waldorf Astoria
September - Disney Fantasy
November - JW Marriott
January - Disney Fantasy
March - Swan/Dolphin OR HR Grand Cypress not sure yet
