BWI Deluxe Room

I know this question has probably been asked before but I'm having trouble with the search

I understand the deluxe rooms at the BWI are all boardwalk view rooms but I seem to remember seeing something that they are not necessarily located on the concierge floor?

I like having secure access if I'm staying concierge, either by elevator or by separate entrance door to the concierge floor, so if they are located throughout the resort I'll have to reconsider.

Thanks

Not sure if I will be much help, but I will tell you what I do know. We just returned from a split stay, BWI deluxe room and BWV 2 bedroom. From what I know all the deluxe rooms DO have a boardwalk view, but I believe they are all on the same level as the lounge or on the next floor. That said ALL the concierge rooms are not located on the same floor as the lounge, deluxe or not. Last stay at the BWI, DH and I had a King concierge room and it was not within the confines of the key only entry door, it was a few doors before the desk where you put your key card in to gain entry to the lounge.
I believe the rooms are all in the same general area, just some are a floor up from the lounge, does that make sense?
Our room was located almost directly across from the entrance to the lounge and we LOVED the room, it was plenty of space for the 6 of us. I could be wrong, but I believe the Poly is the only resort where the concierge rooms are all within that locked building, I believe all the other resorts have concierge rooms on multiple floors.

The lounge is on the 4th floor. Deluxe rooms are on the 3rd and 4th floor. All have a Boardwalk view. The deluxe rooms on the 4th floor have a small balcony, and some of the rooms are a little smaller if they have a roof pitch on the side. The deluxe rooms on the 3rd floor have large balconies. We've stayed in both. First time we requested 4th floor because we wanted to be close to the lounge. 2nd time we requested 3rd floor because we wanted the larger room, and larger balcony. We really liked the 3rd floor room.
There is a back stairway just behind the concierge desk, so it was very convenient to go back and forth to the lounge.

You don't have the "security" of being behind the locked concierge access door if you are on the 3rd floor, but if someone wanted to get into that area, all they would need to do is follow people in who are using their key card.

We felt very safe staying at BWI, as we have at all the WDW resorts we've stayed at. And the concierge staff at BWI are the best on property.

You could request a 4th floor room, and when you check in, if you don't get one, just ask if you can move to one the following day. The concierge staff will go the extra mile for you at this resort.

Have a great trip! :)

I'm very tempted - I stayed at the BWI concierge in a standard room a few weeks ago but TBH the room we were originally given wasn't great - our first room overlooked the satalite dishes of the ESPN and there was a lot of road noise, thankfully they moved us into the only spare room available which overlooked the gardens and had a great view of Illuminations. I'm thinking if we went for a deluxe room we would at least have a guaranteed view of the Boardwalk/Crescent Lake.

I was really impressed with the BWI concierge but don't think I'll go for a standard view room again (although I had requested a Boardwalk view at time of booking and through the IPO but of course that isn't guaranteed for standard rooms).

I liked the third floor BWI Deluxe. The balcony seemed much larger than ones above us. We spent lots of time on that balcony so it really made a difference. Let's put it this way, you can't lose. If you are on the 4th floor, you will be in the "secure" concierge area. If you are on the 3rd, you will have a short walk to the concierge steps, but a better balcony experience. I really enjoyed the extra space and TV the deluxe room provided.:)

You couldn't pick a better place to stay!! I stay here twice a year and love the deluxe rooms. Yes, they all have BW views and as Laura mentioned, some are on the 3rd floor. I actually loved the 3rd floor room I had. Laura, you had the same one, right? The balcony was nice and big and the short walk to the lounge was great. It helped with the exercise using the stairs. The cast there is just wonderful.

I just wanted to gently warn you that club level does not equal secure. We were on the 11th floor of the Contemporary and got on the elevator. It went up to the club level floor. We could have easily gotten off on the 12th floor.

I was staying at Sugar Loaf once and a women walked in behind some quests. A CM quickly escorted her to the exit.

I think I'm going to go for the deluxe room, it sounds and looks so nice from the pictures I've seen.

pirateofthecarolinas - it's always good to have a reminder of the real world so to speak. I think sometimes we become oblivious to things.

Let us know how you like the deluxe. I've often considered it for my family of 5. The MK resorts always seem to win out in the end.

This was EXCELLENT information about the balconies. I'll remember this when I make my ressies for this summer.

I did have the same room. Thanks to you for the heads up! It was, by far, the best room we've had.

I spent more time on that balcony enjoying the view, watching the street performers at night, and just people watching! And I agree with you about using the stairs for exercise. Now that we're hooked on that darn dining plan, I'm always looking for ways to get a little extra exercise.

You can't go wrong with a deluxe room at BWI!

Loved the balcony on our third floor deluxe room (the walk up to the concierge lounge was never a problem!), we would often have front row seats to see the magicians or jugglers - and even were brought into the show a few times. The magician in particular would shout up to us!

It was a beautiful view, especially at sunrise, with the Boardwalk quiet. Not at all noisy, either.

Does the Deluxe room on the third floor have a direct view of the Boardwalk AND Crescent Lake?

I was planning on staying at YC on May 3rd, but they are all booked, but they have availability at BWI.

TIA

Here was my view from the BWI
