BWI airport parking without a flight?

I'm curious if anyone has ever done this, if it will work?

Four of us are driving to FL. 3 of us (me and 2 kids) are flying home one day, and the other (DH) is staying an extra week and driving home later.

Can I leave a car at our local airport parking (BWI long-term parking) for when our flight gets home from MCO, even though I'm not taking a flight to MCO (paying the appropriate parking fees of course)?

If this seems possible, how would I drop the car off? Just drive it in to park and walk out of the parking lot to catch my ride? I have only ever taken the shuttle from the parking lot to the airport. I'm hoping I can park my car, then walk out to find my husband in his car, and we can then drive to FL.

I hope this makes sense, it even seems confusing to me, maybe there is an easier way.

I have used various park & fly sites at different airports when traveling and they have never cared where I am going or when I am returning. On-site airport parking is usually more expensive, but works the same way. You never have to show them a ticket to board the bus. Taking their shuttle bus to the airport (just pick any airline when they ask) and have them meet you at the terminal would be the easiest. Often you would have to walk a LONG way to leave the park & fly site, so taking their bus is a better option.
