BW Studio in March '11 on Rented Points - Online Checkin????

First, is online check-in even available to a non DVC member renting for a ressie? This will be our 4th time at BW on rented points so I'm familiar with the fact the only the actual member with the points can make the ressie in my name, doesn't that preclude me from online check-in?

Second, is there any real benefit to doing this, a greater or lesser chance of getting our first floor room request? Is it actually possible that we'll know before we get there that our room is ready, if that's the case? We expect an early arrival after a night in the MCO Hyatt so I'm not optimistic about getting right in, but it would make our final prep easier if we knew we had a room early.

Anything else I'm not considering? Thanks for any advice offered, I did read through a general thread on this for DVC properties but I didn't see anything about point renters.

I'm a member, but I rented points last December for one night and was able to use online check-in. I don'g know about the request though.

I have heard that at the BW rooms are preassigned and they do not change you to something more to your request. Online check in doesn't seem to have any effect on when you can get into your room. When I want a room early I check in the night before instead.

I don't know if an online check-in has an impact on room assignments and/or when they're ready but you CAN check in online if you're renting points through the following link:

I asked Member Services the first time I did a rental and no one's ever had an issue. You can also use the link to view your reservation in advance.
