I noticed that the price's are reaching from 83- 87 on resales. Why is it higher than the other resorts?

Supply and demand. It is a small DVC resort that is very popular. A lot of people want to own there and very few want to sell what they already own. I'm surprised the price isn't higher.

Yep, what HBC said! ::yes::

That, plus the fact that most of the owners and prospective buyers don't read these boards! :p

I'm just shocked that they keep VWL resales under $100 a point! :)

BCV is the hottest spot because of small size and the best pool with ideal location............that is why...........

Granny, I'm sure if if more people just listened to you and MG, the price would go through the roof.;)

and Disney has bought almost every BCV contract back that is not close to the 89 dollar price point because BCV has the longest wait list by far............

BCV also has SAB, which does not allow pool hopping.

IMO, SSR has fueled this. As SSR grows to be the largest, there will be more owners competing for BCV when the 7 month window opens. Whereas those non-BCV owners who love BCV and could get ressies at 7 month are now defensively buying BCV.

As the DVC mantra goes: "Buy where you want to stay."

Hard to believe now but around 9 months ago you could still get BCV resales under $70. The good news is that one day they'll be back at that price (you're just going to have to wait about 25 years).

Hi Nlihte!
Has addonitis already caught up with you?

I can definitely see BCV breaking away from the other DVC's in terms of resale price and point rental price. The demand is just so high and the only way to get these points past Disney is to pay close to the $89 price point (including closing cost) I dont see why owners wouldnt ask $100 per point. I know some have to sell, but if its a small contract, someone would still buy it. Look at the crap they sell on Ebay and get premium price for. They were selling MVMCP tickets for $600 and now with the DVC AP discount, what's an extra $10 a point to own the resort you want?

I rented my points to take the SS Member Cruise and my BCV points went VERY fast.

Iys not only the size but location. Close to EPCOT, BW, BAC, Illuminations and the only DVC with a beach (maybe VWL has one too) and character breakfast. I agree the VWL is the same too. It is the obly MK DVC, close to MK and I think the best theme of any resort except the Poly.

Both deserve to be hot comodities, I own at BCV and SSR but BWV are still our favorite.

We sold our OKW and BW points, to re-buy all BCV. No regrets! We go in the summer, so we wanted home resort. (only 200 points).

But I love all the resorts that I have stayed at, OKW, BWV, and WLV.

Although the two resorts are similar in size, I suspect the reason VWL hasn't quite caught the same level of steam as BCV is due to its theming: I think the whole western/wilderness theme is either a love-it or hate-it kinda thing. (Please note: this is only my opinion; I'm not writing this to get flamed!!!).

But they are not necessarily selling for the price listed.

 Oh! I know, I know!

It must be all the negative housekeeping and poor treatment threads here on the DIS!

;) ;) ;) ;) :rotfl2:

Whatever it is with BCV it's not rubbing off yet on any other resorts. WL and BWV are still where they've been for a while. That SAB pool is like kryptonite, with some sort of magical power over DVC buyers it seems.... but on the other hand $10 a point in the grand scheme of a lifetime of vacations isnt even real $$$

Um, isn't kryptonite a bad thing? ;)

I will wait for the DVC resort on the Monorail line and I will add on another 200 to my 250 at OKW.

BTW...look at my countdown.... :rotfl2:

LOL, Granny! Some of us live in our own VWL, so we don't need to go there on vacation! ;)

I agree that BCV is popular due to SAB and the resort's theming. It is also much smaller in size and the contracts are newer (possibly not as many people ready to sell as other resorts) which certainly effects supply and demand. It is also important to bear in mind that the BWV prices originally started around $62.75 per point where as the BCV started around $75-$80 per the historical info provided in the post listed on the boards regarding the history of the price of a dvc point. Both resorts are getting similar point returns based on the original purchase prices. Fortunately these resorts are maintaining or exceeding their purchase value depending on how much someone originally paid which is good news for those needing to sell their points and their availability is good news for those wanting to be in the Epcot resort area.

We own at both BWV and BCV and love them both. The location is wonderful. Last year we stayed at VWL and certainly can see why people love it there as well. We have yet to stay at the other DVC resorts but hope to in the future.
